We commented during Sony's E3 2016 press conference that the writing in God of War's spectacular PlayStation 4 revival seemed really strong, and now we know why: Rich Gaubert and Matt Sophos – the scripting double-act behind the surprisingly tenderly written Lost Planet 3 – are handling most of the story. Good news, then.
While Lost Planet 3 failed to set cash registers alight, the sturdy third-person shooter was praised for its storytelling among other things. Creative directory Cory Barlog – who clearly has an amazing vision for the series – is contributing to the writing as well, which means that the game is in very safe hands. Oh boy, we're super excited for this one.

Lost Planet 3's story was actually its strongest point, so looking forward to what they come up with!
I never played Lost Planet 3 so I can't comment on that, but I'm glad to hear the story is in good hands
Without getting too offtopic, the story wasn't what derailed Lost Planet in my opinion. If anything, they focused too much on the story and neglected just about everything else in that game... I wouldn't think that is the case for a high budget game like God of War. Also, I miss Lost Planet
Now I need to buy lost planet 3.
I was never interested in Lost Planet 3 (in fact, I always wished they'd just localized the EX-Troopers spin-off instead) until a couple of months ago when I saw the opening scene. Bought the game afterword just based on the quality of that alone. Still haven't gotten around to playing much of it but...yeah, this is definitely adds to the God of War hype for me!
