The rumours can finally be put to rest: a brand new Spider-Man game is heading exclusively to PlayStation 4. However, it isn't the Seattle-based studio Sucker Punch taking the reins - it's Insomniac Games.
There were whispers online recently of the ever-imaginative developer being responsible for the new web-slinging action game, and as shown in the announcement trailer during Sony's E3 2016 conference, it's looking pretty slick already.
Very little information exists at this time, but for now, check out the aforementioned trailer above.

Perfect company to do spiderman, IMO. They won't make it too serious, and they won't ignore fun.
I have complete faith in Insomniac.
This is a win win. Potentially a better fit humor wise for Spider-Man than sucker punch, and also sucker punch can make the next infamous game.

Surprising but still great news. Big fan of Insomniac, and Spider-Man is the only non-DC superhero I've ever been a fan of, so I'm hyped. And it frees up Sucker Punch for whatever. Great stuff all around. For a while I thought there was some bad blood between Insomniac and Sony but fortunately that doesn't seem to be the case now. Glad they're back strong in the PlayStation fold. It is where the company's done it's best work and where most of its fanbase is.
This shows Sony's power in the market where they can get an exclusive Spiderman game, Nintendo and Microsoft have their work cut out
Hope the storys good. Those masks look like inner demons gang members, and mister negative would probably make a good villian. Reading the press release on marvel.com does make it sound like they just wanna make a really great spidey game, like rocksteady did with batman. No tie ins, just a game worthy of the property

This. There's a reason Spidey has worn the same costume for the majority of his history, and that's because it's awesome. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
@Rockman55 Yeah, I'd even take the Civil War (movie) suit over this one. For me, its the white spider insignia that bothers me the most about the whole suit.:/

Is it me or is Peter Parker's voice sounds a lot like Ben Tennyson in Ben 10?
Also, yeah I'm definitely excited for Insomniac Games' Spiderman. Hopefully it'll also include iconic villains like Dr. Octopus, Green Goblin, Venom, etc. and also costumes akin to that from Amazing Spiderman.

Well this is a surprise, the rumor is sucker punch that will make the spiderman games. Insomniac will make a great spiderman game thought, I think they learn a lot from sunset overide how to make traversal in game fun.
Can't wait to shoot my goo all over New York city. Oh, and play Spiderman on PS4.
