Push Rewind

If the industry was ever going to take a week off, it picked the right one. Push Square Towers has been too busy perched in front of the tennis to talk about video games – but given the overall winners, this author kinda wished that he hadn't bothered. In all seriousness, it's been a quiet few days on Planet PlayStation. Still, it has been action packed for well over a month now – cut us some slack, y'all!

Rocket League - 9/10

Rocket League is a good idea that's been expertly executed. While you may roll your eyes at the idea of a vehicular adaptation of America's least-favourite sport, this is a title that's hard to put down once you give it a try. Flawless controls and a frightening amount of depth ensure that both casual and hardcore players will have fun on the field – and the generally excellent online implementation transforms it into four-wheeled crack. Not even a lacklustre single player option and an out-of-place soundtrack can stop us from declaring this the beautiful car game.

Pneuma: Breath of Life - 7/10

With fantastic dialogue, beautiful graphics, and some truly innovative puzzles, Pneuma: Breath of Life is a great buy, even for a short game. Though it does have some boring and frustrating moments - as well as some framerate issues - it's all worth it for the incredible ending. Pneuma may not breathe life into the puzzle genre, but it certainly gives you a new perspective on it.

Soapbox: I Decided to Show My Family Uncharted 4's Incredible Gameplay Demo

You've all seen the Uncharted 4: A Thief's End E3 2015 gameplay demo by now - or at least, I hope that you have. When I was sat here with editor Sammy Barker, watching Sony's press conference live at 3AM, our already tired brains had been battered by the wealth of megatons that the Japanese company had casually paraded out on stage as if they were nothing. The Last Guardian had been revived right at the start of the show, we got confirmation of a Final Fantasy VII remake out of nowhere, and the reveal of Shenmue III almost killed my colleague on the spot. We sat there wondering just how Sony would finish such a momentous occasion off, and while we both knew that Nathan Drake's upcoming escapade would have to show up sooner or later, we weren't quite prepared for just how good an appearance it'd put in.

Guide: How to Play Like a Pro in PS4's Rocket League

Rocket League, the vehicular footy favourite from Psyonix, is a pretty straightforward game to pick up and play – but there's an added layer of depth that makes it incredibly competitive. While you'll be able to get to grips with the basics in minutes, it'll take practice if you want to get promoted to the title's top division. Fortunately, we're here to channel our inner-Mike Bassett and share some top tips that will get you playing like a pro in no time. Who are you? Who are you? Who are you?

Kojima Productions Has Disbanded, Says Solid Snake Voice Actor

It's been a while since we heard anything from Kojima Productions, but according to a not-so cryptic tweet made by Akio Otsuka – the Japanese voice actor for Solid Snake – the developer has officially been disbanded. Writing on Twitter, the veteran larynx lender posted a heartfelt goodbye to the studio that turned him into a star among stealth fans.

Ken Hurricane Kicks Street Fighter V in the Ass

Blonde badass Ken Masters will punch his way into PlayStation 4 and PC exclusive Street Fighter V – not that this should come as much of a surprise. The character was confirmed by Capcom during its San Diego Comic Con panel, and is sporting a new look. An agonisingly short teaser trailer showed the American hard man sporting a trendy bob and a hearty helping of guyliner.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III's Zombie Mode Goes Noir

Although Call of Duty: Black Ops III's main story campaign will be set in the distant future, its take on the series' popular Zombie Mode will play host to a 1940s film-noir setting. A new trailer unveiled at the San Diego Comic Con has given us a glimpse into what's changed – and, perhaps more importantly, what's stayed the same.

PS4 Exclusives Sweep the E3 Game Critics Awards

Sony's first-party may have been underfire since the launch of the PlayStation 4, but it looks like its network of Worldwide Studios still has the Midas touch among critics – the Japanese giant walked away with no less than four Game Critics Awards at this year's E3, with Uncharted 4: A Thief's End scooping three of those on its own.

Video: Watch As We Recap June 2015's Best PS4, PS3, and Vita Games

Hello valued viewers! I'm back (again) with a packet of Strepsils and a bit of a sore throat. I've been p***ing everyone at Push Square Towers off this month by practicing my Batman impression, and I reckon that I've perfected my grizzly growl for this particular video. Gargling with gravel rather than Listerine appears to have done the job.
