It’s taken what feels like an absolute eternity, but Destiny finally has the hype that it needs to make back that $500 million Activision production and marketing budget. The title’s presence at last week’s E3 2014 certainly helped, but it’s the first-person shooter’s recent Alpha test that has propelled anticipation through the stratosphere, with the majority of Push Square towers head over heels in love with the release.
Much like Watch Dogs, it’s a game that you’ll want to play on the PlayStation 4, too. In addition to the usual roster of potential performance enhancements, Sony has teamed up with Bungie to create a batch of exclusive content – including a unique co-op Strike located on Mars, an exclusive competitive map, and a slew of exclusive guns, gear, and ships. You can see all of these bits and bobs in their full glory on the PlayStation Blog.
Don’t worry if you don’t own a next-gen machine yet, as you’ll also nab these goodies on the PlayStation 3. However, it’s worth pointing out that if you’re willing to upgrade, you’ll be able to purchase the game alongside the PS4’s gorgeous limited edition ‘Glacier White’ shell. Are you flying high on a wave of Destiny hype? Tell us how you’re dealing with your Alpha withdrawal symptoms in the comments section below.

So Destiny looks like it meets the hype? It stands above and apart from the FPS competition? I love first person games they increase my immersion into the world they present...not just shooters but games like Outlast and Skyrim. It would be amazing to have a new IP that does something new with the FPS style...a good story and narrative.
@Munkyknuts Yeah, everyone seems to really like it. Looks like it's going to deliver.
For it being an Alpha it was nothing short of spectacular!!
I sometimes trial out Alpha versions of software (mobile phone OS, apps, PC software etc) and generally speaking Alpha status means "quite buggy" but not here
It's now a straight 50/50 split whether I pre-order GTA 5 or Destiny #ChoicesChoices
@get2sammyb wow...looks like I can get less wary and more excited
Yep. Have to agree with the other comments, even from an alpha stage you can tell it's going to be a bit special.
The only bug I got was an enemy floating and doing backflips while his body was getting colder by all the bullets me and my fellow guardians put in him...
So yeah, stellar for an alpha!! Can't wait to play the beta on the 17th and the full game in september. Now I know what those crackheads feel when they're in withdrawal! 0_o
I ❤️LOVED❤️ the Alpha it was amazing!! A month can't go fast enough for the Beta!! So excited!! And the extra content is just a massive bonus!!! This is what owning a PS4 should feel like!! 😋
The alpha was excellent. Had great laughs when playing with a friend. Easily going to lose hours and hours in this game. The only negative that ruins the immersion for me is the ghosts voice. Maybe cause I kno nothing about game of thrones but i feel that peter dinklidge guy did a terrible voice over job . U could almost see the paper in his hands as his dialogue comes out
I wasn't sold on Destiny from the E3 footage and commercials but I got quickly accepted into the alpha. The Alpha was a blast. Probably the best game I have played since ME3 or Sleeping Dogs( whatever came out last). Everything in this game screams amazing, from is gameplay to it's graphics. It's just really fun
@KillTheG1mp....Lololol, I know right? There was this one spot, it just an empty small cube shaped room, & I walked in there to see if there was anything of use, & out of nowhere 3 Fallen Generals spawned. I killed them & more took kept re-spawning. Doesn't put me off for the final release, (already pre-ordered the glacier white system) because the game was beautiful, with its small flaws, this is what people have been yearning for. IMO.
