Pass the remote

If there's one thing that Sony loves, it's a good old fashioned PlayStation Vita firmware update. And a recent post on the PlayStation Blog proves that, yet again, the company's got us well and truly covered. Overnight, the platform holder announced that system software v3.00 is on its way, and depending on where you are in the world, it may already be available at the time of typing.

The patch sees the addition of a bevy of handy new features, including enhanced parental controls and a panoramic camera setting. Most notable, though, is the inclusion of the previously announced PS4 Link application. As the name implies, the app will allow you to remotely control your PS4 with your Vita, and play many of the next-gen system's games on your handheld's gorgeous OLED screen. It'll also allow your Vita to facilitate those fancy second screen gaming features that are all the rage right now.

You can find a full list of the updates through here. Sony has also put together a convenient little video detailing some of the new improvements. Are you trembling with excitement over these fresh features? Will you be taking full advantage of the Vita's second screen capabilities? Give us an update on your thoughts in the comments section below.
