EA believes Need for Speed has the potential to be more than just a popular racing game, as it’s shopping around a script for a movie based on the high-speed franchise. Writing duo George and John Gatins are said to have penned the plot, which has supposedly got Paramount, Warner Bros and Sony interested in stumping up the cash to produce the flick.
Variety claims Paramount is currently leading the pack, but EA is still open to other bidders. It'll be interesting to see which storyline the publisher opts for should the movie get the go-ahead. Need for Speed: The Run’s cross-country plot is perfect fodder for a summer blockbuster, but let’s not forget that Need for Speed: Undercover already starred the likes of Maggie Q.
