Just saw the new movie Deathly Hallows Part 1 and it was fantastic. I read the entire series of books in a little under two months right after the release of the Deathly Hallows, of which I went to (release) with my brother and was amazed at the thousands of fans in line for the book at midnight, and guessed if it was that good I was missing out and started reading away.

Deathly Hallows was my favorite book in the series and I'm really pumped for July to come around to see the final move, if not a bit sad because it will be the end of this great series in publish and movie productions.

What do you guys think? Like the Potter or not?

I read all the books over time.  You must be a very fast reader to read them all in a month as it took me about a week per title.  Looking back, though, I also enjoyed the break between books, the months of anticipation and the sense that time had really passed both for me and the Potter characters.

I guess my favorite book was Goblet of Fire because it was so much like high school, not the magic, of course, but it made me nostalgic.

My favorite movie might just be this newest one.  To be honest, I didn't enjoy the book Deathly Hallows as much as the other books, and I think I actually liked the film better than the book.

One thing to add about this film:  My wife never read or saw any of the other stories.  So, I told her I'd have to see this film by myself.  There's simply no way the movie can depict all the back story she'd need to enjoy it.

Oops... sorry, it took me right under two months, Lol. that a was suppose to be two, typo on that one

My wife hasn't read the books either, and she still enjoys the movies. I don't know if it was the darker undertones, or the constant fear of what right behind the characters, but I really enjoyed the Deathly Hallows and The Half Blood Prince the most of the entire series.

Goblet was indeed a great book as well. I don't think there is a bad book in the series to be honest.

I'm reading through the books again. I just made it to the Half-Blood Prince

Haven't watched many of the movies, just the first two and the above I mentioned. Books are more interesting to me than movies :3

I'm even thinking about getting Lego Harry Potter for the PS3 since I'm getting into the series again. The demo was really fun, so I'll probably like it, if not as much as the Star Wars one.

Edit: If we're talking about reading times here, I easily shaved of the first three books in the series in under a week. Oh noez I'm a geek D:

The next two, on the other hand took me at least a week each.

in grade 5 which at the time there was only the first 2 books our teacher read us the first book and I remember loving it so much I went out and bought the 2nd book instantly. I loved the concept and the story enormassly and felt a connection to the main character because I was adopted (at the age of 2). But after finishing the 2nd book there wasnt a 3rd book yet and basically I dont like reading so I figured id get into the movies instead. Daniel Ratcliff or what ever his name is pretty much ruined the entire series for me. I pictured a cool character like Link from the legend of zelda and the movies turned that cool character into this super lame loser. I think the concept of harry potter is amazing and I wish now that I wasnt distorted by the movies and had read all the books.

So I wont offend anyone but I dont like harry potter, though I do enjoy renting the games on occation just because I have fun exploring the school, also the lego one was fun because it didnt have any real voices or anything and was playable co-op. though there was one game I played the demo of and I really enjoyed throwing chairs at people with telekenisis (i forget the spells name, maybe windgardia something).

Same as always. All bark, and no bite!
