Topic: Ultra Street Fighter IV --OT

Figure since this is a few days away we need a place to discuss this. So who's getting it and what are your general thoughts?

I am, gonna be good to jump back in. 8 v 8 team battle with only the original sf2 characters who's up for it? Whens it out?

I'm so hyped for this. I was a big fan of Street Fighter IV when it first came out, and put quite a few hours into Super Street Fighter IV, but then kinda fell off the bandwagon. I think this port is the perfect price for what they're offering, and I can't wait to jump back in.

@get2sammyb: I know what you mean. I bought Super Street Fighter IV on the 360 and enjoyed it alot but it just feel right on with the 360 controller if that makes sense. Been stoked for it ever since it was announced for PS4 so now I can use DS or even better a fight stick.

I never played any of the PS3 versions so I plan on getting it. That said it proably won't be day one since I'm way to busy with The Witcher to play anything else.

I was going to get it on PS3 this weekend at a friend's behest, but I changed my mind because 1. I saw Injustice Ultimate for $10 less, and 2. Since SFV is coming around sometime next year or so, I figured it'd be better to hold off. See, I'm one of those guys who tries to get good at fighters and I haven't played SFIV on PS3 yet, so considering it'll take time to learn the game, I figure I'll be decent by the time SFV is on the way, and it just kinda feels pointless to learn the game when the new one is approaching. That's probably a cruddy mindset, but I can't help but feel that way.

@Tasuki I know what you mean. I did play SFIV on 360 and I had trouble doing simple DP and fireball motions on the shoddy d-pad. I wasn't playing seriously back then, but you don't want to screw up simple stuff in serious matches for sure.

@DerMeister I know what you mean about the dpad god that thing was horrible, in fact it was so horrible that when I got SSFIV on the 360 I got a madcatz fighting pad for the 360 the SF ones with Ken on it. But it was more then that with the 360 controller it just felt clunky to me for fighting games. Which is one reason I know only get fighting games on the PS4 and Wii U.

Also speaking of fighting pads anyone know if PS3 fighting pads will work on the PS4?

Posting on the EU PlayStation Blog, Sony's director of third party productions, Gio Corsi, confirmed the compatibility drivers, which were created by Skullgirls developer Lab Zero, had been included.

"Ultra Street Fighter IV will support PS4 FightSticks, of course," said Corsi. "But we’ve also included Lab Zero’s drivers so that USFIV will support licensed PS3 FightSticks as well."

@DerMeister Buy it on ps4 next week. The game is awesome. I havnt played for about 14-15 months but its the best 1v1 fighting game ever.

That said I hope for some extra surprise content. Hyped. Gutted I'm going on holiday Friday

Yeah I saw that but what I am talking about are fight pads not sticks. They have a dpad instead of a stick. The one I have reminds me alot of the Sega Genesis six button controller.

I'll totally get it at some point, just might not play it seriously. I don't have a PS4 yet, but I might get for that as well when I do.

fair one, I heard something about input lag on the ps3 Tasuki and I had the 360 version so I wouldn't want to comment.

Yeah I also heard of lag on the PS3 as well but only played the 360 and 3DS versions.

Anyone get this game yet? I thought it came out today but I can't seem to find it on the PS store? Did they delay it or something?

Yeah apparently Sony had some delays today with updating the store. I am downloading it now using the app on my phone so it will be ready when I get home frome work.

@Tasuki lucky you ive been waiting all night and its only exactly 5.449gb downloaded, funnily its a lot quicker now as the last gig and a bit downloaded in 15 minutes. It must of been the Tiger uppercut to my hub.

A fighting buddy of mine got it today, so I think I'll go all in on the PS4 version. I definitely can't wait to get back into Street Fighter for sure.

I know this is probably not the right place to post this but switched the ps4 back on and its shooting up by 0.04gb every second sat on 10.625gb now come on!!! Will be downloading in the morning from now on.

Guys I'm in, just beat arcade on normal all the way through with no continues, controls feel ok, really need some practice though. Anyone who wants to trophy hunt let me know I will be playing from 8:30 until 1am uk time tonight and hopefully beat some of the staff @get2sammyb @Tasuki @ShogunRok are you guys setting up an endless lobby later?
