@get2sammyb I wonder how much of GTA: Online's support over the last several years has been developed by Rockstar's 'B-team.' I'm not intimately familiar with their various studios but it's natural to assume the most talented developers have long since transitioned to working on GTA VI and whatever its online component will be.
I'm no GTA lore expert, but I know the games are categorized by 2D, 3D, and HD universes. 2D being the top-down PSone entries, 3D being the PS2 games, and HD beginning on PS3 with GTA IV. So, from a continuity perspective, the events of the original Vice City didn't necessarily occur in GTA VI's modern take. Nevertheless, still cool that Rockstar is including homages to the past with Phil and presumably many others.
Even if this generation has been void of PlayStation Studios titles, the third-parties and especially indies have been hard at work. All of these games look great!
I've been rocking the PS3 theme. I love how the ribbon design gives some depth to the UI, it allows the game icons to stand out a bit more. Just like everyone else, I'm hoping that Sony keeps these permanent.
While I'm a bit sketchy on AI's creative impact on game development, I do think it can be helpful, especially for squashing bugs. Having a trained AI run through a game at breakneck speed with varied playstyles could be really effective and, most of all, efficient during the QA process.
Still wild when I read these headlines about Xbox games migrating to PlayStation, especially these major tentpole releases. Only a matter of time before Halo, Gears, and the like make their way over.
Such a bummer that so many third-party releases are suffering from shoddy PSSR implementation. When it works, it works. Playing TLoU: Part I at 4K with an uncapped frame rate on the Pro has been a beautiful experience but even that isn't without a few bugs here and there. Devs should at the very least leave the original graphics modes as an option.
Unfortunate that GTA+ subscriptions are up but there will always be those gullible enough to buy-in. Despite that, GTA VI remains my most anticipated entertainment product, maybe ever? RDR II had such a profound impact on me and I can't wait to see what Rockstar's been cooking up. The second trailer should drop soon if they follow their typical PR cycle.
It's just a bummer that Sony's wasted half a generation chasing live service. For live service to be successful, it needs to be a phenomenon and that's not something anyone can orchestrate.
I remember this anniversary edition went MIA for awhile after its initial announcement. Having a reveal trailer in early 2021 only to drop a few months ago with minimal fanfare couldn't have helped.

Re: Sony Licenses Everybody's Golf to Bandai Namco, Coming to PS5
These Bandai Namco published Japan Studio revivals are awesome. I haven't played Freedom Wars yet but it's in the neverending backlog.
Interesting that Patapon might have multiple skus on the PS Store. I wonder whether or not Sony will delist the PS4 remasters.

Even though this deal was in the works prior to Activision/Blizzard, I wonder how much it swayed Sony's final decision.
