Re: Killzone: Mercenary Targets PlayStation Vita Next Year

shinobi88

I'm not lying when I say that the trailer for Killzone: Liberation, you know the live action one where the guy is walking through a dark alley and he calls a dog to him but when it turns it has red eyes and then a Helghast foot soldier fires a grenade at him, is the thing that made switch from DS to PSP. This trailer is on the same level. Freakin LOVE how they made it look like the system is a futuristic wrist communicator

Re: Ubisoft Bullish About PlayStation Vita's Prospects

shinobi88

AC III is definitely on my Vita radar, even though I've never bought a game in the franchise aside from the side-scrolling sequel on Nintendo DS. Ubisoft is a MAJOR player, glad to see them on board with Vita. PLEASE bring ZombieU and Rayman Legends to Vita, Ubi.

Side note, several AAA action titles have been rumored for Vita recently, including new Batman, Metal Gear Solid, and Resident Evil games. It would be really juicy if any of those materialized. Res Evil seems most likely to be true, considering a RE title was announced for PSP a couple E3s ago, but hasn't been heard from since. Capcom could've switched development over to Vita.

Re: The Walking Dead Was PSN's Top Selling Game in May

shinobi88

What a shocker: People like the Walking Dead. I couldn't tell that since it has the top 15 highest selling graphic novels every single month.

Glad to see Pinball Arcade on the list for Vita. I always like when developers who bust their @$$ for the fans get repayed for their efforts.

Re: Sony Recognises the Importance of Smaller Games on Vita

shinobi88

I recognize the importance of BIG games on Vita, so keep em coming. I did a lil research on Metacritic, and looking at the Top 25 rated games on multiple systems, around 85% of a system's top games came out after the 1st year. So the Vita's best days are ahead of em. Uncharted 2 will be off the hook

Re: Ubisoft Considers ZombiU for PS3 and Vita

shinobi88

YES!! YES!! VITA!!! You could easily do a straight port considering the Vita has WiiU's exact same button functionality and Zombie U's graphics engine isn't the most cutting edge out there so you'd lose nothing graphically. This game looks awesome. BRING IT

Re: Reaction: Vita's Lacklustre E3 Showing Was a Huge Mistake

shinobi88

For anyone who wants to know: I was holding out until the end of e3 to decide between getting a 3DS or Vita, and the result is...VITA WON. A few factors went in, namely not a SINGLE 1st person shooter was announced for 3DS while Vita is getting one of the best possible franchises in Call of Duty. There's always the chance that CoD is a flop, but I'd still have Killzone, Bioshock, and Oddworld Stranger's Wrath on the horizon as potential blockbuster FPS. No 3DS redesign with a bigger screen also hurt them. Size DOES matter. Also, PS All-Stars Battle Royale is an awesome title, and Super Smash Bros is still a couple years off for 3DS. Lastly, I finally understand the power difference between the two in terms of power. Vita can get straight ports of PS3 quality games like Battle Royale, Sonic Racing Transformed, and Pinball Arcade, while 3DS has to get watered down versions with a different engine (and in PB Arcade's case, it may never come out on 3DS because of the low powered tech). Viva La Vita!

Re: Kaz Hirai to Reveal Sony Rescue Strategy This Month

shinobi88

YES!! Finally. I hate to see Sony struggle, when they put out such awesome gaming devices and franchises. It's a really good thing when a game developer panicks, though. When Nintendo freaked out about 3DS sales, fans were treated to a HUGE price drop, LOTS of free downloadable games, and a TON of new game announcements. I think I speak for everyone when I say that would be neat

Re: Extend the Adventure of Escape Plan with Free DLC

shinobi88

This..is...AWESOME. Handheld gaming is a different animal than home consoles. Look how far we've come since the original Game Boy. Not only DLC, but FREE meaningful DLC (aka new levels) AND game fixes, to an already great game. Viva la Vita

Re: Sony Stumps Up £1.5 Million for Easter Vita Push

shinobi88

@Kayoss, There is absolutely no comparison between a PS Vita and an Ipod. Are they both handheld? Ya. Can you play games on both? Ya. But the point of Ipods is not gaming. It's internet, photos, and apps. It can actually replace a cell phone. Gaming on Ipods is just a bonus. The PS Vita is a GAMING device, with other features tacked on. In the modern history of gaming devices, most notably the PS3 and another handheld device the 3DS, the far and away #1 factor in hardware sales is price. End of story.

Re: Sony Stumps Up £1.5 Million for Easter Vita Push

shinobi88

Sony is dumb. LUCKILY, they have wads of cash stored up. So they can keep surviving fails like the PSP, PSP Go, and PS3 launch.

But seriously, let's waste 1.5 million pounds or whatever that is. Every single bit of evidence suggest hardware sales are directly tied to price. So why don't you price your handheld the same as your home console and see how well the handheld sells? Schmucks

Re: New Gravity Rush Video Lifts Off

shinobi88

Anyone who compares 3DS or Vita games to Iphones or Androids is either mentally challenged in some way or drinking heavily. Iphone games are essentially Atari games w/ spiffed up graphics and terrible controls. Nature is about balance. And it is the way of nature to make sure that touch controls, while easier to use, are never as efficient as buttons. It is near impossible to have any kind of depth or consistent controls to a game based solely on touch. Example, Zelda Phantom Hourglass for the DS. It was a 1st party Nintendo game so you know it was legit. But in the end, the touch based combat was uber repetitive and the game missed your touch input 1 out of every 5 times.

If you are an actual gamer, get a 3DS or Vita. I'd put something else after that but it's really the end of the story.

Re: New Gravity Rush Video Lifts Off

shinobi88

This games looks awesome, possibly some of the coolest graphics I've seen on any system.

I just wanted to comment on the current state of the Vita. Forbes just went out of its way to say the Vita is in big trouble after sales dropped off a cliff after the 1st week in Japan.

Here's the sitch. Sony made a big time bonehead boo boo by missing out on Christmas in the U.S. You just don't understand how insane Moms are about buying they're little tikes the latest hi-tech gadgets around the holidays. December would've guaranteed 400k Vita's off U.S. shelves.

No point in looking back. Sony blew it. Ya, they have a killer launch line-up but two months earlier it still would've been killer w/ a couple less games.

There's no point in worrying about the Vita's existence. Sony has the funds to back a flop, just as they have been doing w/ the PSP ever since it's 1st year on the market. The real worry is on software. If Vita's aren't selling, all these developers who are jumping at a chance to make Vita software will back off.

Chill out on worrying about sales for now. Worst case scenario, Sony can do a price drop to boost sales. Which they should do. They'll be losing money on every system sold, but that's what it took for PS3 sales to come to life. As it sits right now, factoring in that you NEED a memory card to play games on Vita, Vita is THE most expensive system on the market to get up and running. Not cool.

Re: Get Inside Vita's Augmented Reality Features with New Video

shinobi88

I've done the AR cards on 3DS and if you don't think that's amazingly cool you've lost a large chunk of your soul and completely erased your inner kid.

Now, the Vita can blow what the 3DS does out of the water due to the vastly superior tech. Question is, are they gonna maxx out this idea or make it another Eye Toy, aka nothing to shout about.

All the stuff in the vid basically amounts to a bunch of mini-games. I'd like to see, if it's possible, is a full game focused on AR. Like a 1st person shooter where the thugs or alien scum popped out from behind a wall in your house.

Or an even better idea, and this one may not even be AR, is a game where no matter where you turn, you're still in the game. Like a 1st person Uncharted. The game is set in a jungle. So when you hold the Vita above your head, it looks like the sky in the jungle, and when you turn around you can see the jungle behind you.

Did anybody see the 1st Vita AR vid Sony put out? The alien autopsy part is one of the scariest things I've seen in my life. They only show a clip in this vid.
