I was going to ignore it, tried the demo. It seemed pretty good, it looked great, enemies and their light was top notch.
I wonder how long it is and how varied the combat becomes as I imagine it's the same weapon all the way through. Unless it reviews very highly I'll be waiting for a price drop.
I have an absolute tonne of games to play through now and I don't see myself spending 70 on another one to add to the que unless it is exceptional.
@Fangleman32 It's just a bit cheesy, it's that and the conversation is always entirely detached from whatever the situation is in a entirely surreal manner.
I'll give it a shot when the demo comes out and see.
@Gamer42 Thing thing is, it will still be below a reasonable 4070 super system. Sure it will be about 2/3rds of the price, but it won't be able to compete, especially, when you throw DLSS, Frame Gen etc in.
And the RTX5000 series is coming, to some extent, that'll be the new target for higher end play. It's really not the hardware of the PS5, it's just not being used in an efficient manner. The PS4 was pretty awful hardware wise, most of all the CPU. But the games pushed what should have been possible. We're just not seeing that in so many cases this time.
The weaboo vibes put me off, I did see some of the enemies, that looked amazing tbh, and the parry stuff sounds good. I just hope it has multiple difficulties or is a challenge.
The combat will be nothing like God of War, that's an awful take, God of War is like controlling a tank with an Axe, also has very forgiving parries.
@DrVenture69 Easier to use a computer to view it. Not really the point though.
There are a couple of bargains I saw for less than a fiver. Titanfall 2 was about £2 which is one of the best FPS games out there to this day, in terms of campaign, looks great still on PS5 too.
The pilot star wars game is about £1.80 hah, defo worth it.
I got Spiderman Remastered, it was a toss up between that and Hogwarts, i'm a fan of neither license but the games are just so good I still want to play them.
@neillaw They are all in game and all but one of the 'items' are incredibly easy to get apart from the porthub, they're pretty easy to get and you don't need many.
I already have a gaming laptop and ps5, but I'm not getting a pro no way. I've put together a desktop system all corsair/asus, RTX4070 super, about £1,100, if the PS6 is worthwhile, I might buy one.
I think the PS5 hardware was fine, on the scale of things, it's just the games are really optimized for it, simple as that. The PS4 was weak as hell, most of all the CPU but people worked really hard to push it, this time, it's like the developers don't care.
@Glens0n I can run it at 1440p 60fps on RTX2050 laptop, no RT though. Even XBOX can run it at 60fps and higher res...
@DonJorginho I don't think it's a matter of optimisation as a post process, it seems they made a game that's just not going to run well in the engine no matter what.
RE Engine was made for medium sized, very high local detail games. DD2 is pretty much the opposite of that. Even on truly high end cpus, it still tanks in towns.
@MrMagic TBH, this generation, it's the developers, last gen, the PS4 was a bit weak, but look at Shadow of Mordor compared to Ghost etc..
My RTX 2050 laptop (on the scale of things, incredibly weak for an RTX card) can run Baldurs Gate 3 better than PS5, it manages 50-60fps at 1440p ultra. I'm pretty sure it will run DD2 at 1080p 60fps too...
What's the price though? If it's much north of £600, I'll just get a Desktop PC instead. I'd sooner spend an extra £400 and not have to update again in another 3 years..
@Bez87 Just finished Ghost of T and in some ways, it's one of the best looking games on PS5 and I don't think there's much difference from the PS4 Pro version (which I played). Same rez.
@jt887 Are you quite sure? The framerate is unlocked, so whats to stop it running higher if it's using less resources? Look at Dark Souls 3, which was unlocked and ran at higher FPS with no patch on PS4 pro.
If it's uncapped, surely we can set PS5 output to 1440p, via settings and we'll get more fps? Digital Foundry will know, otherwise, as others have said, I'll get Rise of the Ronin.
It's quite surprising as RE Engine is very light for the quality of the output, always was.

Re: Preview: Stellar Blade Is the PS5 Exclusive Enthusiasts Have Been Praying For
It defo has 60fps mode, looks great too.
@Chibbie Playstation access compared it to Sekiro. Video on their YT channel.

Re: Helldivers 2 APC Game Master Reportedly an Imposter Masquerading as Joel
@Aladin_Run Digital Foundry said it was 60fps but @1080p. If you can't tell, that's a good sign. In Performance.
Re: Helldivers 2 APC Game Master Reportedly an Imposter Masquerading as Joel
Anyone with this on PS5, how is the performance mode?

I'm still undecided.

Re: Poll: Are You Playing Dragon's Dogma 2?
@Splat I thought that, from the awful presentation to the way you need to actually hunt for content, a lot of people won't like it.

Re: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's PS5 Graphics Enhanced, Here Are the Patch Notes
@Dr_ENT DD2 won't run at 60fps on PS5 Pro. No chance. Even with a (actual) high end CPU and a 4090 it can't stay at 60fps in towns.
Re: MGS3 Remake Main Menu Shown, and David Hayter's Played the Full Game
@Steel76 MGS looks like a botch job. Silent Hill is being developed by Bloober, so it might turn out well.

DF claiming it probably won't run games targeting 30fps at 60fps. Not sure it seems like such a good idea.
Re: Poll: Are You Happy with Your PS Plus Extra, Premium Games for March 2024?
@NathanKang I assumed it was a terrible live service game and never bothered to look at it....true story.

Re: Dragon's Dogma 2 PS5 Frame Rate Controversy Rumbles on as Previews Give Conflicting Reports
The PS5 can be set at hardware level to render at 1440p though, via settings menu. You could well be correct though.

@ATaco they didn't, I have it already. I face rolled through Elden ring, this is more in line with Sekiro.
Re: Poll: What Do You Think of the Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Demo?
@carlos82 It looked very poor in 60fps mode on a 55" screen, very blurry. FF16 is far sharper, I'm sure part one was much sharper too.
