@PegasusActual93 With Bethesda, according to the CMA reports, they had made assurances to third parties stating that they did not intend to make Bethesda games exclusive to their platform (streaming). Aside from that, they made assurances that it does not intend to take away games from competing consoles, stating that it is the best or first on Xbox, then saying it is on a case-to-case basis, before finally stating that it will all be exclusive. Activision, they started by stating that they were still going to release AB and COD on competing consoles, Then they said they wanted COD to be like Minecraft, Then Satya made the infamous statement, "Let's compete," He continues on saying that this deal should be allowed without concessions. It leaks that there is a offer for three years, which in itself is really unprofessional and then Jim responds equally unprofessionally. They bump up the offer to 10 years, Microsoft also used Bethesda as a bargaining chip to get Game Pass on Playstation.
It does not do anything for Sony owners, it does however negate the argument that Sony makes acquisitions to make exclusives, and makes that Microsoft's schtick. It also negates the idea that Sony relies on organic growth.
@rjejr Yes, there were leaked documents containing the offer for those two studios, but Discovery wanted everything that has not yet been sold off at that point. Clearly, Discovery is giving it a go, Wonder Woman is under them, a second WB Montreal game, and they have hired some industry veterans, including a Santa Monica veteran as the head of Monolith. AT&T did not care much for the gaming division, they cancelled three WB Montreal games, one Superman, one Batman, a Suicide Squad game, the sequel to Shadow of War from Monolith, cancelled Superman game from Rocksteady, and lost the license to the Lord of the Rings, and they wanted to sell, but Discovery made an offer on all of it.
@rjejr The reason the deal with Microsoft did not go through is they wanted to buy Rocksteady and Netherealm only with the respective rights to the properties. They wanted all this for $2 billion, Monolith was never a part of the deal with Microsoft, nor Warner Bros. Montreal.
This will have zero effect on Activision, it will only affect them if sales drop, and I don't see that happening. COD is still selling, and quite a lot. If you would like to protest this type of behavior, then stop buying their products.
I'll buy an Xbox for their exclusives, but I prefer Sony. Game Pass' endgame is what many attacked EA for not too long ago, microtransactions and loot boxes. I am all for however a service that gives you access to older games.
Underwhelming as it truly was, the idea to reveal the majority through the official magazine baffles me, it almost feels as if both these consoles were rushed, and are being pushed prematurely.

@Greifchen I will not be surprised if there are a few surprise announcements in the court case.
