i'm sincerely happy for any fortnite players out there who are excited about this. AND i'm bummed out by the trend that some of my favorite game characters and stories are being commodified [not just by fornite, but also by hollywood, which is berefit of original ideas].
as a fan of AAA single player games, i don't have a problem with live service games per se. the only thing that would make me mad is if they replace single player games.
@Uncharted2007 i'm with you on this. if 2021 taught me anything, it's that i need to manage my own expectations and not to get too excited about speculation or rumors
@lolwhatno i'm of the same opinion; i don't need more hype for the games that are almost out (GOW, HFW, etc). what i'm really interested in is what hasn't been officially announced. give me something to look forward to!
@Uncharted2007 there's a lot to love about reddit and toxicity varies depending on which subreddit you're in. it's possible to have a toxicity-free experience if you choose the right subreddits to join. sadly, most gaming subreddits have some degree of toxicity.
yeah, i suspected there was something fishy about the initial report since business chases money. that's its entire purpose, so it makes no sense that playstation would dismiss a "massive success".
as a diehard TLOU fan, i'm STOKED about this news. yes, the first game is still a masterpiece, still holds up after all these years...and yet **spoiler alert** they basically ended the franchise with TLOU2 (bc for me, TLOU will always be about joel + ellie). so any more i can get from ND is certainly welcome. and i actually love the idea of updated visuals and mechanics. a remade TLOU doesn't mean i'll fully abandon the original TLOU, but spending more time with joel + ellie is something i'll always want.
as others have said, i start games with the intention to read everything, but as soon as the text becomes burdensome and uninteresting [to me], i bail. the only games i've read all the supplemental text for are naughty dog games.
