Love the Alien films and Resident Evil, but this looks a tad too generic - the standard issue 'welcome to the madhouse' voiceover doesn't help either.
Also worry it might prove a bit repetitive - trawling around dingy corridors can get too much when stretched out for a game length. Resident Evil games are generally extremely well paced and varied, and the goofy tone stops them feeling too depressing.
Was very sceptical about game streaming as everything I've tried before was unplayable
But signed up for a month of the 3080 tier of GeForce Now.... and wow. It's in 4k, picture quality is superb, no significant lag, can whack up the graphics options to max. The result is comparable to playing on my PS5.
It's super expensive, so not worth it long term, and the games you can play are limited. I am also lucky to have very fast internet.
But if Microsoft and Sony can match it one day, then I think streaming might actually be viable (for some people at least).
Feels like nostalgia's playing a big role here. GTAV is the only one that's really playable today. The rest of the games I'd rank in order of their release - they made massive leaps from game to game.
Uurgh, why do all these kind of games have to be cringe-fests? I got Onrush the other day in a sale and its the same, with added obnoxious character designs, DLC costumes, emotes etc. It's just embarrassing.
@LiamCroft Hi Liam, thanks for the review. Do you know if you can transfer the save from PS4 to 5? Ie can I start on PS4 then move over to the PS5 version if I actually manage to snag a console? Or would I have to keep playing the PS4 version via back compat?
The unit cost of each game - the disc and box, or providing a digital download - is very small. So therefore the price of games are set only by what people will pay for them.
Companies want to make as much money as possible, but this can be achieved by increasing sales or increasing price. The optimum price is the highest one that doesn't reduce sales.
Selling 100 copies at £50 is better than selling 50 copies at £70.
I think Sony have made a mistake with the way they gone about this and ultimately will have to settle back to £50 for most games, as this is the sweet spot for the market.
They should have introduced the new price point with large, established IPs where people will be less likely to be deterred by the higher price. Eg. Zelda: Breath of the Wild is priced at £60 on the eshop, whereas other Switch games are cheaper.
I'm near the end of this on base PS4 and really enjoying it. The performance is poor in places and there are glitches, but far, far from unplayable. I actually had a lot more problems with Witcher 3, despite getting that a year after release.
I don't get why they've added these to Plus but not Now. Gamepass has a lot of buzz, and adding 20 games of this quality would really help them fight back.
To be honest I think both PS and Xbox need to make online free then consolidate their game subscription services into one.
@TooBarFoo I'm near the O2 - doubt it'll stretch that far, but fingers crossed.
Yeah I've lived here for 20 years and don't think I've ever encountered a Ritchie-esque propa geezer. They should do it in MLE but I guess it'd confuse the Americans.

Re: Resident Evil 6 Appears Set for a PS5 Port
Can't really see the point - how much better is it going to be than the PS4 version?
Also 3/10 was a bit harsh - it's at least worth a 6/10, if for the main menu music alone.

Re: Hands On: Cyberpunk 2077 Patch 1.2 - Less Crashing and Better Performance on PS5, PS4, But We've Still Got a Long Way to Go
Finished it on base PS4, didn't crash once. Is this a PS5 problem.

Re: Fantastic PS4 Video Shows One Second of Every Game That Defined the Generation
Great video, they should just use this as an advert for PS5. 'Where will you go next?' or something.
Re: Watch Dogs: Legion Runs at 4K, 30FPS with Raytracing on PS5
London actually has relatively low rainfall.
The difference is that in London it always feels like it's about to rain.
If ray-tracing is good at capturing dull overcast skies then we're good.

Re: Poll: What Is Your Preferred Game Length?
Tone, variety and intensity are important factors too.
For instance The Witcher 3 is long, but it has variety, a light hearted tone and is low intensity most of the time.
Games that are more intense or darker should be commensurately shorter...
