@SleepyNick I think a lot of people went straight in on Spider-man knowing what it will be. Where as 2D Mario maybe people needed more convincing, so once they’d seen the positive reviews maybe they got a bit of a bump in week 2.

I’m not sure they do, they should carry on buying the smaller devs and giving them support. It is arguably far better creatively than buying a lumbering beast like ABK. It does feel like they have a bit of a dry spell post S-M in terms of output from the first parties though.

@S1ayeR74 I dont entirely agree, I dont entirely disagree either. It was more making the point that their is a certain amount of blindness to Sony's shady practices and now it's MS flexing their larger financial muscle its a problem.

@Friendly slightly more balanced view, Phil isn't trying to buy everyone it was literally a list of companies being considered.
Never understood this blind support for multi national companies, support consumers not businesses!

@Somebody I think the FTCs appeals are largely done from what I’ve been reading. I’m sure there’s other appeals but from what I’ve been reading their appeal after last week has already been thrown out and they(MS) are free to proceed(subject to the CMA)

Why over complicate it? Unlock content by playing the game. I’m happy for that to be expanded and monetised by having a battle pass. But the krypt was a mess within what was otherwise a great game.

Makes complete sense, balance and server load are so important to a fighting games longevity it makes sense to want to run many betas. From what I played of the last one it is so much nicer to play(although I will get it on Xbox as I prefer their d-pad for fighting games).

@nomither6 first sensible post I’ve seen. The think that bothers me most is both have had a lack of exclusives this gen and they’re both seemingly too busy squabbling over Activision.

@PlatinumKing @MatthewJP I don’t think I was imagining there was quite a bit of controversy when it first launched around being super grindy. Looking it up I’d need to do around 20 circuit experiences for 1 car. I think I’ll pass

Actually free, or is it a ridiculous number of in game credits? Haven’t played in a while fell off it because of the difficulty of getting enough credits.

I’d like to see the current consoles fully realised before we get a pro. We’re just on the cusp of current gen only let’s see some games released that can show us what it’s made of before asking us to upgrade!

I guess frontier doesnt have the resources to update like EA do while working on a yearly release.
And that being said if this game is "development complete" what would you expect them to add? I dont know the game, is it missing features or functionality? If not we should probably give them Kudos for releasing a full game rather than patching after launch.

@TheArt I get your point but there at least iterative changes in FIFA and COD is a new campaign made by differing devs. They could both be improved by the former becoming a service game(or EAFC becoming a service game next year) and Activision not putting all of their resources into COD every year(a change I’m hoping MS will make).
But remastering a 5 year old game and charging it as a new release is a different level of nickel and diming.

@UltimateOtaku91 I think that’s 3 years plus the existing deal so doesn’t seem an unreasonable commitment from a competitor.

@nessisonett at least with iOS they banned cloud gaming apps, as it breaks their terms of service(or in other terms it makes no money for Apple).

I thought MS gave a better look at what their next 12 months looks like(and Nintendo did this earlier in the year) which I don’t think we have from Sony yet so it’s a bit of an apples and oranges question.

@Apfelschteiner unlikely, have you seen the state of e-football?! 2K seems the smart choice as they have a sports pedigree. Although if they are building a game ground up they need to get a deal signed for a game that would ideally be released around Sept 23.

Seems mad they aren’t just making BF2042 entirely free to play. It seems the options are that or abandon it entirely. Giving it to those with Gamepass/EA Play doesn’t seem like it will make a lot of difference.

@UFCfan agreed, although I’d be happy to see Sony do more back compat stuff like MS have. But what I really care about here is VRR being used to improve existing current gen games(all of which for me at least are by insomniac!)

@Shstrick its a combination of money; MS has far more buying power with manufacturers so can produce more Series X and the Series S being a less powered machine was a gamble that paid off for them as it is easier to produce.

Just bought Lego SW over this, this may have swayed me if I'd seen it earlier.

Tekken, Cool Boarders, Wipeout and Ridge Racer are all series that are synonymous with PS1&2 for me would love to see all of them share there back catalogue. I’d sub to PS+ for these alone

@awp69 I’ve been always kinda old school with my beat em ups, will check guilty gear out. This I’ll wait for it to turn up on a subscription service.

@gollumb82 yeah the regular content updates are perfect for racing games. I’ve loved playing the last 2 Horizon games because of the constant updates. Now I get to do this on both consoles!

Wipeout, classic PS game not really value in a standalone game but a competitive live service game with themes around other games etc could be great.
