Re: Review: Rocksmith 2014 Edition (PlayStation 3)

this looks interesting , i'd love to be able to play a real guitar instead of just my "authentic" (beatles) rickenbacker . I have one concern though regarding the coloured strings bit ; as I have trouble discerning different colours (colour-"blindness" if you will) I'm wondering if this would create issues similar to the ones I have when (attempting to) play Columns .

blimey, some people on here need to lighten up ! what's the problem with wills wanting a pS4 ? and good for him to draw attention to the british games industry (probably to werther's original sucking Daily Mail readers that were not aware there was such a thing) i'm neither pro or anti royal but , being a british tax payer , I do go towards paying for them.

in no particular order (except alphabetical) here's my picks

DRIVER ; SAN FRANCISCO
Athough I'm not a huge fan of driving games per se , the unique twist in this game was your ability to "shift"/teleport in to other drivers (thus taking control of their vehicle) . This is why it makes one of my top fives , oh - and blasting around the streets of SF in a 1970 Dodge Challenger !

PDC WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP DARTS : PRO TOUR
Discarding my "arrers" in favour of a move controller , I remember stepping up to the oche , taking on "The Power" in the final of the worlds , and beating him ! All this and superb commentary provided by the late great Sid Waddell , this is a sports game like no other . It truly is "like spooning mine-strone!"

PLAY STATION ALL STARS BATTLE ROYALE
Fighters don't get much better than this ! Really enjoyed this fighting game that featured a stellar roster of playStation characters ,game themed arenas and more signature music, than you could shake a fist (or stick if you prefer) at . Toro Inoue vs Heihachi Mishima ? Bring it on !

THE BEATLES : ROCK BAND
"..have to admit it's getting better.." and it certainly did when I grabbed my authentic Rickenbacker (controller) , became the fifth Beatle and joined the lads from Liverpool on a Magical Mystery Tour . FAB !

THE SABOTEUR
This game is up there as one of my favourites of ANY console generation. The setting in Nazi occupied 1940's France , playing as hard as nails Irishman Sean Devlin ,this game served up action and adventure aplenty ! After playing this , I was saying (in my best Irish accent) "me name's Sean!" all the time (even though , of course , it isn't !) . Back in the day (2009) I don't recall it getting 4 pushSquares (pushSquares original review scoring system) , but what a great (and under-rated) game !

@JamieO :
you should put blue stinger on your "to play" list .
i often wonder had things been different we'd be on dreamcast 3 by now ,dreamcast was a really innovative console in its day . I mean , would we ever see a game such as "typing of the dead" today ?
same thoughts (if not more so) goes to the 3DO , always thought it was great idea to have an industry standard for games (like VHS was for video players) surely this would have been easier for developers .
still , big corporate business eh ?

@JamieO not meaning to take over your excellent review but... @Beaston61
nice one ! thought I was the only one who rated this game . remember the zombies in the shopping mall ? that swimming bit ? PEN-PEN !!? so good !
(worryingly , i think it was set 20 years in the future [2019] so only just a few years to go until THAT ending -LOL)
