@Northern_munkey I feel you. He deleted my HC Ice Shard sorc. Came back and took him down with a Werewolf Druid. I am NEVER taking the title I earned off that character as long as he lives.
I am very excited for what is to come. The base game is fantastic with a battle system that feels like it will hold up for quite some time. Home run by the D4 team and they should be proud of delivering a stellar product despite everything else that has gone on around them. It took a lot of focus and effort to stay on target.
I think people criticizing the monetization or need for monetization in general are missing the point to some extent. For the D4 team to stay large and dedicated; they have to drive revenue. If the content is good, I'll gladly pay for an expansion or support via Battle Pass. If it is not; people won't and the support will flounder. You can dislike Bobby and still like Diablo IV. Life in general is full of these scenarios.
I am a re-sub for the story casual, but try to make the most of the month I pay for. Looking forward to the story and the raid conclusion. From there , I usually casual grind to bring the ilvl up a little bit and then dive back into my backlog of other games. Used to play this like crazy, but post-pandemic hasn't allowed me that kind of time anymore. Still love it, though!
LOTRO was pretty awesome back in the day. Interested, but Free 2 Play usually comes with heaps of baggage that I stay away from. We shall see how this shapes up.
I want to play this again, but I played it to death back when it originally released and I literally can't think of anything further I can do in the game. That said, glad they got the performance figured out. I am jealous of those who will get to experience this masterpiece for the first time at this level of fidelity.
Naoki Yoshida is going to go down in history as one of the best who ever was in this industry. The turnaround he led on FFXIV was remarkable - and now SE has given him the reins on this. This man can deliver under pressure - I cannot wait for this.
@ShogunRok Any general comments you can share on what it was like to play the Rogue class? Or did you not get a chance to try that out? I ask that is the archetype I typically gravitate towards in RPGs. Been playing an Assassin in D2R and loving it.
