@ thedevilsjester.. Guess I wasn’t clear in my statement. I know folders were never in PS5 gui, when I said removed I meant from the design concept. I don’t know that I agree with your assessment though. 10 games over the life time of the console seems low, but regardless. Given the PS5 focus on digital and PS4 compatibility you take that 10 games from the PS4 and potential 10 more over the life of PS5……..
I can see and agree with how some features wouldn’t be priority at the start, but folders aren’t rocket science. It is a basic programming function. How would it be more complicated then this gamelist thing which I personally find useless. The only reason I have an interest in folders in the first place is that Sony (along with Microsoft and the rest) are pushing these cluttered interfaces that more ad based than being user friendly. I don’t need my console to be a social hub and I don’t need all the animations and social feeds. I want a simple clean efficient interface to get me to what I want quickly.
This isn’t a matter of resources as much as it’s about advertising. If I’m allowed to customize my home page to what I want then they can’t reach me through ads. My PS4 home page had all those feeds and stuff that I couldn’t delete in a folder called junk so I never saw them. And then had a couple of genre based folders. It was quick clean efficient and non-intrusive. Because of this constant barrage of stuff I don’t want I don’t even have my PS5 connected now as that’s the only way to turn it off.
This is just my personal preference. And my primary gripe is that there isn’t an option for a simple clean mode. Let me decide what I want to see and what I want on my home page. I think the PS5 OS/gui is a major step backwards. Always thought the PS OS was a lot better because of its simplicity
What’s the point of reporting if you don’t actually report and just rehash press release? Gamelists are stupid and worthless. Why Sony removed folders in the first place is stupid. Why they just won’t simply add them back is even dumber. Being only able to create a Gamelist in the Game Collections section and then not only for games installed on the PS and not be able to put that list on the home page…..what is the point?
The previous OS gui was simple and elegant. I don’t understand everyone’s fascination with cluttered menus. I don’t play games for menus. Sony trying to emulate the Xbox gui is stupid. I wish there was a simple mode that removed all that feeds and things from the home page and ALLOWED the user to fully customized what they want to see.. But again why can’t they simply just add the create folder option back. Just so stupid
For starters at least Sony apparently sends people a notification which is something Apple doesn’t do!
This is why I hate the move to digital purchases. I still have Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1 games all these years later that I can fire up and play without any issue. I understand the license thing, but it seems wrong that when something that has been purchased is taken away. For me it’s the principle of the situation. Maybe they should change the option from purchase to lease.
I hope it’s closer to Ride 4 than MotoGP because to me the MotoGP games have gotten to be almost unplayable. Going from the feature least I’m not too hopeful. Repeating the same old things but not listening to the players about what needs to be fixed (braking and AI). Will end up getting it anyways but not getting to excited
On it's own it's a decent game with typical Milestone misteps. but coming from PS4 to PS5, No save transfer is pretty lame. What's even lamer is them not saying anything about that BEFORE the PS5 version was released.
The haptic update is nothing special. The only real thing is that makes it better is that there is resistance on the trigger so it's easier to modulate acceleration and braking.
If you've already put a lot of time in PS4 version I don't think there is a big enough improvement to make you go through the game again. Especially if you're on a PS4 Pro which ran pretty good. disappointing but not unexpected
So I don't get the issue with the price increase. Mainly because the same people complaining will turn around and spend a lot on DLC that comes out in the first few months of release. DLC to me which should be included in the game at release. I mean when you have DLC detailed 6 months before a game is released I find issue with. I'm all for extending the life of a game. But that content should come afterwards. and this is the thing that has gotten me buying fewer games or at the least waiting until a GOTY edition comes out.
