Man, the trailer for Wild got me so amped for the game. It's a shame we'll never get to play it. Oh well. I'm going to torture myself now by watching the trailer.

Speaking as an American here, too many people casting crappy, uninformed votes this year.

Typically, I completely ignore free-to-play games. The quality is generally lower and they are microtransaction hellscapes. However, I was convinced to not ignore Rivals because, at first glance, they appear to have done the monetization correctly. I was thinking you would have to pay for characters. That is not the case. All microtransactions I've heard of so far are cosmetic only. There is no "free selection" of characters that you can play as but need to spend money to have access to a character you like permanently. I think that is good.

It's still not my kind of game, but I'll at least pop in every once in a while to play it, which is more than I ever expected when the game was revealed.

You're right. WWE games are annualized, so they are on a tighter timeline.

@PuppetMaster You are indeed right. Tekken makes owning the complete game confusing and costly. They keep pumping out new seasons for $40. Even the ultimate editions of the game have one season pass and costumes, so are not ultimate.

I broke down and bought the base game for $30 a month or so ago. Maybe next year they'll have a nice big discount on the first season pass or perhaps even a bundle. Or, I'll continue getting by with the base game. It's up to Bandai Namco .

I hate this business model. $70 game + $40 for four more characters, but then they ask for another $40 for another four characters because this is a new "season." All the fighting games do it. I buy just Tekken as far as fighting games go now and wait forever for a complete version to be at a reasonable price.

Hopefully, this interest turns into sales.

I liked Shawn Layden when he was PlayStation CEO, though he was no Jack Tretton. Increasingly, I find myself more and more happy he is still not the CEO because he just has so many bad takes.

I stopped using Twitter when Elon Musk took over. It was already awful and only continued to get worse, even more precipitously under Musk's ownership. When I heard about Bluesky as an alternative, I signed up for that. It is way better, but still does have bots and trolls. For me, the difference is robust and working moderation and moderation tools. I can block the MAGA clowns and move on. Elon removed the ability to do that with Twitter because his feelings were hurt. Plus, Bluesky will actually do something about bots and policy violations.

In short, Bluesky looks like Twitter, but is nothing like it.

I'm rooting for Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth and Astro Bot! I'd be happy with either.

This is ultra cool! It was a pleasant surprise. I hope they keep this ability permanently due to the overwhelming positive reception.

Hell yeah! Well deserved! The fact Helldivers 2 was not nominated by The Video Game Awards for game of the year is a travesty.

The idiotic tariffs in the U.S. will "fix" that right up.

Ooooh! I am still on the fence about getting a DualSense Edge. I am not sure I need the extra buttons.

Also, I have to see the Helldivers 2 controller and need absolute confirmation no more 30th anniversary controllers are on the way.

I don't need another controller, but... I love Helldivers 2, so I guess I need to buy this, assuming the design is good. Perhaps this is the reason I couldn't get a 30th anniversary controller. That and scalpers. Mostly scalpers.

I do most of my gaming on PC, but Lego games I only buy on console because they are perfect for couch co-op with my wee one.

The reason phones are being forced to be opened up to other storefronts is because phones are seen as essential devices and both Apple and Google have a chokehold on them. That same logic would not apply to a console, which is strictly seen as a luxury item.

Helldivers 2 didn't get nominated for game of the year, and thus, can't win. There are greater injustices!

Well, I was planning on playing both The Last of Us games, so this is quite nice.

I waited in the queue for 30 minutes and then got let in and... sold out. Booooooo!!!

After trying many times unsuccessfully, I am going to try to get the controller one more time.

The fact that only two of those incredible games won (so far) is a travesty.

It's a win-win in this regard.

I am not a fan of industry consolidation, but this one actually makes sense and is the righting of a wrong since Sony foolishly let From Software (and Quantic Dream, for that matter) get away all those years ago. Sony can't sit idly by while their competitor buys up the whole industry.

It's nuts. So, it's cool because you have a use for requisition and samples again once you max out everything since you donate those to the space station to unlock ita abilities, but the abilities are crazy. Last night, the space station's orbital bombardment was unlocked while I was playing. It was effectively a 380mm strategem that covered the whole map. Nowhere was safe. So much friendly fire.

Monopolies don't happen overnight. Turning a blind eye to the repercussions of industry consolidation because the games are still coming to your platform of choice for now does not excuse the consolidation of power. Having outsized power to decide which games get made or don't and whether they come to certain platforms on day one or not at all is still bad no matter what current Microsoft leadership thinks is a good idea. The leadership will change someday and Microsoft's "benevolence" can change just as easily.

Of course not they are not done buying. Microsoft doesn't stop spending until they are #1. The company has way too much power as it is, unfortunately.

I figured this game would be a banger and Sony would buy Studio Gobo to turn them into a first party family game factory, potentially making Lego versions of other PlayStation IP. Sony does need more platformers and family-friendly games.

There was no telling without regulators and all the scrutiny whether Microsoft would not have just kept all ABK games exclusive. Sonya and the FTC were right to push back on the acquisition. Even if Microsoft fully intended to keep everything multiplatform from the start, which they definitely would not have done if they were in a dominant gaming position, it's the right call to prevent a $3T company from just buying more and more power.

This was completely predictable. Good for PlayStation.

What God awful story?

I have not yet played the remaster, but I did pay the $10 upgrade fee to get it. I have it installing on my PS5 Pro as we speak. I'll give it a go some time after Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth, which is the game I have decided I must use to christen my Pro. I also have both Horizon games installed to also play.
