@munstre You’re right, but the implication is definitely “if you want more games like this...”, and let’s be honest, there will never be a shortage of generic games. I feel enough pressure to buy games to “support” them when they are bold and unique.
This guy is popping off like he’s some video game auteur, as if he didn’t directed the most generic contemporary game imaginable. I appreciate the frustrations brought about by this - the industry is too beholden to metacritic scores and Day 1 hype, and games that grow by word of mouth over time should be rewarded - but let’s not pretend we’re going to lack zombie open-world checklist games if Sony won’t green light this guy’s project.
That’s funny - the other game Annapurna showed I was like looks like Virginia without the weirdness. I’ll chime in and say I thought Virginia was great, and would play again with a VR update. I still think the television style smash cuts are an innovation that should be explored more in games.
Your answer is right in the Wired quote: "almost-console-quality games".
Switch delivered on Sony's promise of "taking gamers out of the handheld ghetto". PSP and Vita were always compromises of varying degrees, Switch is literally console on the go, and more importantly console not-necessarily on the go: PSP and Vita output to the TV was atrocious.

Re: Resident Evil Village Demo: All Times You Can Play
I think this is really clever. It’s making a demo into an event. I’m literally planning my day around a half an hour gameplay session.
I can see why gamers are annoyed, but I also can see why you’re the gamers and not the marketing team.

Re: Talking Point: What Free April 2021 PS Plus Games Are You Hoping For?
@JJ2 Death Stranding would be great. A big reason I’m hesitant to pick it up is missing the window of an active online community.
