@lindos It’s a suspense-driven story game paying obvious homage to Alfred Hitchcock and has a time loop mechanic ... you didn’t think there’d be a twist? Good grief.
@Grimwood It’s a suspense-driven game, it kind of puts all it’s chips on the twist and ending. The trial and error gameplay is frustrating too, where you know what you can do trigger the next event but you have to watch the whole 12 minutes play out for a retry or a failure to get the result.
There’s a lot of good ideas here but the execution was terrible, and yes a good twist/ending would have forgiven most of it’s flaws.
@vapidwolf That's my biggest reservation here. We have very few facts and their all coming from the "sting" group.
I think it's partly a reaction to the Activision debacle, and also the particular heinousness of the accusation. If this was adult sexual harassment, they might be more keen to wait for more facts, and from a police source.
If it's true, like @Martsmall said, there's no hole deep enough to throw this guy in. However, I'm always a bit worried about how much damage just an accusation can do without due process, especially when it's coming from a group who is purposefully engineering the circumstances.
@nessisonett Thanks for the perspective. I guess it really comes down to how true and how clear that "age reveal" was, but like you said there is some level of diligence that can be done if you're not sure. What do you think about Grindr in all this? How much responsibility should be on the platform to prevent minors (thus pedos) from using it? I imagine you'd want a hookup app to be more 'myspace' than 'facebook', but they are in the best position to do something about it.
@Northern_munkey I do it because I am a gamer first and foremost. I post on NintendoLife, PureXbox, and here. I have no loyalties to these companies or platforms and my preferences are shaped by what’s good at the moment. I don’t stay put and hope it’s good where I staked out, I follow the buffalo.
At the moment, PS+ is an awful service that siphons money from dupes like me. Just like I’d recommend a game to someone that I think they’d like. I recommend a service that does what the people who complain wish Sony was doing. The good news is Sony is (likely) now doing it. I hope it is decent. Truly. I don’t have an XBox console (GP on PC) so I’d love to have a similar service on PS4, and if not, it adds a lot of potential value to PS5 for me that as of now I can easily pass on.
What I don’t understand is why being on a Sony site means you have to be a Sony fanboy — that is to say, be irrationally pro-Sony.
I’m being less sarcastic than you think. If you double-down on PS+ and get all crotchety in the forums, I will be entertained. If you do come enjoy the subscription service I will be genuinely happy too. I want everyone to have fun and enjoy this hobby.
I don’t want attention, I want conversations. Arguments even. If the comment board is just pro-site, pro-company sycophants, what’s the point? To reinforce poor thinking and poor attitudes.
I might be annoying, but I might be a bit clever too. Not exactly a 1-2 combo but we’re talking now, aren’t we?
@nessisonett True. But I have to wonder then what this “minor” looked like, and at what point the supposed reveal happened. As someone who’s used it, how do you imagine it all going down? Do you think this guy had to be a predator for it get that far? Or do you think it’s possible to trick somebody that otherwise had no interest in minors?
@Consolefanboyspotr True... it’s almost as if industry is made of people!
The problem is that people in industries have an incentive to run cover for criminals that profit them, see: Activision Blizzard.
Now, we have made a currency out of outing these people, there is a new cost/benefit calculus to do. Sony has no problem doing this to whoever this guy is, but imagine it was Jim Ryan. I bet they’d be in the trenches with all the receipts trying to discredit the work this group does.
I’d be curious to know how this went down. For context (which Push Square did not provide for whatever reason), this took place on the app Grindr. To hear it from reddit, it is huge a problem on Grindr that there is no enforcement of age restrictions to use the app, and there are minors on it sharing explicit images. It sounds like it’s something of a minefield to navigate.
@Northern_munkey I was a sucker who thought it would stay at a decent level and got a 3-month sub. I did enjoy my Gamepass sub, thanks! And I likely will again if/when I re-sub next year.
I hope you enjoy it too when Sony puts their name on it.
@Northern_munkey Thanks! And good luck to you... looks like you won’t need it though (see above post). Better days ahead!
Aside, I wonder how the tunes will change when everybody gets what we “entitled complainers” having been pushing for for over a year. How many people are going to “miss the old PS+ where we overpaid for bargain bin games and basic network services”?
@redcorpuscle I wonder what you’ll say when Sony copies Gamepass and scraps the current trash recycling service you’re defending. (google Sony’s Project Spartacus)
@Kang81 Stop buying games day 1 haha! Jk aside, I can’t imagine the shrugs you do at PS Plus’ lineup. Even if 70% of the library is worthless to you, that’s 30%. Plus the fact that many games get swapped in every two weeks (i think?), it’s certainly a better crapshoot.
I just turned off the sub while playing Dread and now Shin Megami Tensei V, then I grabbed some Steam sales, then Elden Ring... that’s the nice thing about Gamepass too, you don’t get gouged on a month-long sub like PS Plus so it’s easy to turn on and off around you gaming schedule.
@Northern_munkey To answer your question, nothing. I cancelled my sub last month. PS4 is a streaming box for me now. I got a few backlog games, if I can be bothered. Gamepass is a better spend. Couldn’t get a PS5 if I wanted one, but I’d rather put that money into a PC at this point so I can “remaster” my own games and keep my library instead of paying for the privilege.
Remember #fortheplayers? They couldn’t be leaving gamers behind fast enough. It’s just a fanboy defense force now.
Nintendo is the place to be for Japanese games and PC/Xbox covers just about everything else.
Glad to know it’s not just me in the comments getting heat for stating the obvious.
This last gen, particularly Sony and Nintendo, was such an F-U with backwards compatibility, ports, remasters, and digital lockouts, is it any wonder gamers are leaving the gardens?
I prefer the console experience a hundred times more than gaming on PC, but how many times am I expected to pay for games I own again? How many games are going to be obsoleted? How many digital storefronts shuttered?
It’s fun but it’s not that good. I scratch that kind of multiplayer itch with Splatoon 2, which is much, much deeper mechanically (with less convoluted controls) and has better team play and a higher skill ceiling. Traversal feels good but there’s not too much payoff for mastering it, unlike Rocket League, Splatoon, and some characters in Overwatch. As good as the core combat in Knockout City gets, you’re ultimately playing RPS x ‘Simon’. I think even Mario Tennis Aces and For Honor do that better.
I’m sure people feel the same with whatever multiplayer game they get up with like Fortnite or Rocket League. It’s good enough in it’s own right, but it’s not pulling from the better games.
Personally, I also think it’s terribly ugly. That makes the “wrapper loop” of grinding for cosmetics really unrewarding for me.
@get2sammyb You think Sony will break compatibility from PSVR>PSVR2? How it works now (I think) is PS5 games can’t use PSVR1 hardware but the PS5 can run PSVR1 games in PS4 compatibility mode.
Compatibility (relatively) straightforward to me, but I don’t have the current setup or know all the details of the PSVR2 so I’m wondering why you don’t think so.
@Flaming_Kaiser People would complain about God of War because it’s already free on Playstation Plus Collection. Shake your head!
@MakersMark Well said! Well actually you sound like a madman, but I totally agree hahaha. It think it gets particularly nasty in here because with PS Plus you are at an intersection of quality and value arguments. Like I replied to the esteemed poster above, you can present God of War as a ‘quality’ offering and it’s hard to disagree, but it’s cheap now, and offered for free by other means. How much is it worth, really?
Also, the fact it’s being presented/defended as if the games are some free bonus and not the main course is so disingenuous and sleazy.
It’s like a Happy Meal, and people are acting like your acting “entitled” if you’re disappointed because the toy, from McDonald’s POV, comes with the meal. Well, you can get meals without toys, so clearly people are buying Happy Meals exclusively for the toys.
Is everyone subbing to PS Plus for the “free” games? No. But to assume like @get2sammyb that they’re the exception, or even that they’re a minority of hardcore gamers (those that bother to comment on gaming sites) who see it that way is ridiculous. They’re not “free”, “extra”, or “bonus” to those people.
@Dange Personally, I agree, though I think I conflate the PLAY AT HOME free games with the PS Plus when I think about it. Still... well... see comment #91 for why I take up defending the arguments.
@Jacko11 No worries, I got your comment in my email;)
I never said I didn't think it was worth it. In fact... I don't think I've ever made a value judgement on any month for PS Plus. Between Control, Greedfall, FFVIIR, and online action playing Guilty Gear Strive, I'd say I broke even if I'm being generous.
I defend people who don't think it's worth it because they're right. For them. And it's disgusting the way people come down on them to defend a corporation and it's fandom. It's disgusting behavior to call people entitled like it's a pejorative when they spend money for service.
Also FWIW, I don't think you should have had your comment removed. I thought it was funny, and was hoping it put some good-natured name calling into fair play. You think I'm an idiot who doesn't deserve games, and @get2sammyb thinks I'm an idiot who doesn't deserve to disagree with them in public. You can guess which one I actually find offensive and demoralizing.
@LiamCroft Fair enough. I thought the comments carried over to the new page that's linked, but I guess I never got a comment banned and then the whole conversation disappeared before.

@LiamCroft @get2sammyb Why did you guys nuke the comments from the “Rumored PS Plus...” page? The comments have always carried over when you switch the page over to “announced”.
@Jacko11 Those entitled babies who spent money on a year’s sub when games like Control and Final Fantasy VIIR we’re getting put out and feel ripped off.
What babies, feeling entitled to some level quality of service for their money.
@uptownsoul Regardless of games? Show your work. Comments have been pretty spot on with regards to quality and value.
I think this is a pretty decent month — I’d even say a strong one if you have PSVR.
That said, a game that was already free on PS Plus and is currently a ghost town, an HD version of a game from almost a decade ago, and an Among Us clone is a bargain bin.
There are sometimes good finds in the bargain bin, but let’s keep it real what this is. Why defend it? @RedKnight34 For a lot of people that thought they saved money buying the yearly sub, they feel like they’re getting ripped off. Are you really going to tell them they’re wrong? Make the case.
@Would_you_kindly My alternative to subscriptions with games I don’t want to play is better subscriptions with games I want to play. Why are people defending this from Sony’s marketing perspective and not from the gamer’s dollar? It’s mind boggling.
@get2sammyb You can say that cereal isn't comparable to steak and eggs, but guess what's both for breakfast.
People are paying a monthly subscription for games. Massage it any way you want. People who feel they are paying for online and the games are "extra" don't seem to care, and people who pay for games and see the online as an "extra" are looking for better alternatives.
Let me restate it: you can call it whatever you want, but for many gamers Gamepass is an alternative to PS Plus.
I'm looking forward to the replies. There's already comments of people leaving PS Plus for Gamepass — including me budget-wise, through I'm currently un-subbed for both. I don't know how you would define microscopic, but amongst hardcore gamers (i.e. those that read gaming sites), I would absolutely bet against you on that.
Pretty solid lineup! Not a ‘re-sub’ lineup, but not a ‘cancel’ either. Really I was expecting some fireworks after so many woeful months, but I guess Sony doesn’t think it can stave off Gamepass with their PS Plus games.
@get2sammyb This is lamest argument. They are subscription services that net games. They are absolutely comparable on that basis alone, even if they are presented and marketed differently.
Why not make an article with a poll and ask how many people dumped PS Plus and subbed for Gamepass with that money? Settle it in Smash.
@LiamCroft Is this game good, or is it “Marvel good”? Could it stand on it’s own for gamers who don’t care one whit about Marvel? How much of the positivity is just GotG standing next to it’s ugly sister ‘The Avengers’?

@Flaming_Kaiser Well, the poll’s up and the majority of readers are disappointed with the games. So they complain.
How smart do I have to be? I’m “connecting the dots“ with two dots.
If anything, it’s bizarre how many people defend PS Plus for how many actually judge the selection as “meh”.
So either do your research and find the months with good games as per polls and ratio the complaints to comments and compare...
or!
Keep it simple, like a “probably not smart” person like me, and connect two dots: your bias to your assumption.

Re: Rumour: PS Plus November 2021 PS5, PS4 Games Leaked Ahead of Reveal
Pretty solid lineup! Not a ‘re-sub’ lineup, but not a ‘cancel’ either. Really I was expecting some fireworks after so many woeful months, but I guess Sony doesn’t think it can stave off Gamepass with their PS Plus games.
@get2sammyb This is lamest argument. They are subscription services that net games. They are absolutely comparable on that basis alone, even if they are presented and marketed differently.
Why not make an article with a poll and ask how many people dumped PS Plus and subbed for Gamepass with that money? Settle it in Smash.
Re: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (PS5) - Faithful Take on the Guardians Really Rocks
@r3dman21 Good to know, but again — how would you judge it for fans of sci-fi but not necessarily Marvel?

@clianvXAi Welcome to the cross-gen ghetto.
Re: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy (PS5) - Faithful Take on the Guardians Really Rocks
@LiamCroft Is this game good, or is it “Marvel good”? Could it stand on it’s own for gamers who don’t care one whit about Marvel? How much of the positivity is just GotG standing next to it’s ugly sister ‘The Avengers’?
