I put “plagiarized” content in my senior seminar research paper as a placeholder, and forgot to remove it, so my poor advisor was not allowed to give me any higher than an F, even after fixing it. There’s just no excuse to forget. This was 15 years ago though, well before AI and other modern lazy shortcuts.
There is absolutely a precedence for this, and it’s already built into the Steam ecosystem. I’m surprised no one in the comments remembers this.
When Nvidia GeForce Now launched many years ago, one of its selling points was its ability for you to log into your steam library and play all of your games in the cloud. I remember testing out Borderlands 3 at launch and being quite impressed.
Within a few days, many publishers (namely Gearbox) got up in arms and demanded Steam to require an opt in policy to prevent users from playing their brand new games on the streaming service without permission.
All Sony has to do is make a stink with Steam and demand for the Steam Client provided with Microsoft’s Project Helix to require the same opt-in policy permissions, and that as they say will be that.
