@Flaming_Kaiser "praying upon"? lol - it's not a 'gimmick' since the entire food, drink and entertainment industry is predicated on exploiting people's addictions, so what's your point exactly? you can spend £70 on a new game and get say 30 hours' entertainment out of it or, like me, you can spend nothing at all on Honkai Star Rail and get 800+ hours' fun

Not sure where I'll find the time but can't wait to try this one out. People get all antsy about 'gacha' but you can easily enjoy everything these games have to offer for absolutely nothing. In fact far better gaming value than what your typical full price title brings you.

Moaners and the typical 'last month I'll be on PSPlus' comments are getting increasingly isolated, which is a good sign. You can't argue that it isn't three decent games.

@Darude84 Speaking personally, it's not just the number of hours but the quality of that time investment. FromSoftware provide so many heart-pounding memorable adrenaline rushes that in turn provide an incredible sense of accomplishment. In fact you barely notice the time you've spent playing. Death Stranding, on the other hand, as the hours go by is its antithesis: dull, pointless, and uneventful.

@UltimateOtaku91 It belies your name that you should need an easy mode. I repeat, and with all respect, if you want an easier time of it, or you just want to 'complete' games, then there are many other better choices around than Elden Ring.

For all those looking for an easy ride just play a Naughty Dog game or a walking simulator. The sense of accomplishment in FS games is unequalled elsewhere, I couldn't even finish Sekiro after 150 hours' play because the final boss was so hard and that's fine.

Poor review. By anybody's standards FromSoftware have quite clearly knocked the ball out of the park with this enormous DLC. Saying "8/10 is great" is weasel words when some throwaway indie tosh that was knocked up in a couple of afternoons will get 10/10s. Despite the rhetoric there has always been a bias against these games going back years to the original Demon's Souls.

Am level 270 on Journey 2 so not sure if that's good or bad for this DLC? Either way really psyched.

Reads like a review tailored to justify the snarky tagline. The alternative control method in the menus is absolutely fine.

@Lavishturtle it had to be said, thanks for calling this out, this @Maubari guy's post was disrespectful and smug - everyone's opinions about this game are all simply based on what EA have given us, everyone knows that! For my two cents I really don't like the art and character design direction at all.

These character models look pretty dated for a 'teen vibe', hopefully the game will have lots of fresh ideas.

Usual moaners out in force again. Personally can't wait to play SoR4 and if it wasn't for all these so-called 'rubbish' months, I would never have got to play Cat Quest 1 and 2, Tunic, Dave The Diver and countless others. Bottom line, go in with an open mind and the service is tremendous value for money.

Streets Of Rage 4 looks like the real pick of the bunch. Very happy to see that this time the comments page isn't full of the usual whingers and moaners.

Good news. The game has been crying out for something to complement the Spiral Abyss for a long time now.

Genshin Impact needs more impactful changes than that. Most of all, apart from a fortnightly shot at Spiral Abyss there is really no content where players can meaningfully enjoy their level 90 characters. Unlike Star Rail where there's far more incentive to try and get your favourite characters always a little more powerful.

Absolutely brilliant game although I still rank Bloodborne as the best in class. May there be a BB remake (or at least a 60fps update!), Praise The Sun.

RDR2 is a very pretty game with lots of memorable moments and fun content. Problem I have with it (and indeed most GTA/Rockstar games) are the horrendous finicky clunky controls, it just never becomes intuitive. Looking forward to trying the Cat Quests - personally I find even with the odd disappointing month the PS Plus to be tremendous value for money, really don't understand the moaners here.

That TCG Genius Invocation game in Genshin Impact is also the one component that I completely ignore.

@Lup Personally, I prefer the term 'tree trunk' since that more accurately describes how wooden the art of acting has recently become.

No Time To Die was one of the worst 007 films of all time, for which there's plenty of competition.

Serial whingers and moaners do love the comments pages for these 'polls'.

That's really very cool to see DD2 at the top of the tree. Also, Helldivers 2's success has been one of the best things to come out of gaming this year.

For all the rewards and positive aspets of the gameplay it's the clunky sluggish front ends of 2K games that put me off.

@Titntin absolutely spot on, I've noticed this decidedly unfortunate trend myself - people worry about the state of the games industry and it must be soul-destroying for developers and Sony in general to be exposed to this relentless hyperbolic moaning - well, my message is that I love the service and think it's incredible value for money

The two Hoyoverse games on PS5 so far are amazing and well-balanced just as a F2P experience.

DD2 is brilliant in its own unique way. To all these angry moaners, please take the toxicity somewhere else or play another game.

All I'll say is that as a video game character give me Eve over Aloy any day of the week.

Of course it entirely depends on what kind of game you're playing. Action rpgs, sports sims, beat-em-ups? Yes, 60fps is a must. In any case, would much rather play a brilliant game at 30fps than a mediocre one at 60fps.
