@MagisterMagi Not at all. Aside from some minor frame rate issues that don't affect the gameplay at all, why put too many resources into that? Will it come? Most likely, but it's far from even an actual issue. A lot of you couldn't go back even 10 years and play games without making a hill to die on from it.
@KAIRU play the demo first, then save your money. It's clunky, and incredibly disappointing. Hundreds of games have already done it better and there's no reason to support garbage.
@Total_Weirdo you named a crappy exclusive (TotK), an extremely crappy multiplat (Starfield), and SM2. Now, it's been a pretty great year for gaming, and we still have 2 excellent Mario titles to go, but if I only had your list it would have just been a good month (October).
@Cikajovazmaj No real gamer would ever suggest the GAAS model and monetization. The simple truth is, their games just aren't that great. I played the 2 hour trial for this game and it was boring at best. They're talented though, everyone will get picked up by another studio, they always do.
@Northern_munkey Lies of P and LotF? You mean Spider-Man and Mario. Lies of P is already a critical failure if you've played the demo, it's pure garbage. As for LotF... Look, you just don't give a game a second chance. It's a shame how many casual fakes put there gave garbage like No Man's Sky or Destiny/D2 a second chance, no need to do that with the tired soulsborne genre now too.
@Grimwood If you're going to sell a game anyway, there's no reason to buy it. The myth that physical copies grant you ownership and are therefore more valuable than a digital copy needs to be crushed. All you're paying for is the license to use the product, regardless of whether there's a physical edition or not. Once you get past the outdated way of thinking, you can live a better life. Welcome to a decade ago.
@Ironcore That's what happens when casual hobbyists continue to allow Microsoft to make gaming more anti-consumer. Paid online? Xboys. Supporting paid early access? Xboys. Anti-consumer-pass? Oh my ***** Xboys. GAAS? Xboys.Buying Bugthesda, Activision, and Blizzard and becoming the biggest 3rd party gaming company in the industry intentionally to hold a monopoly? Definitely Xboys.
Every single problem we have in the gaming industry today started with Xbox, that's a fact. Microsoft has always been the worst company in gaming and the casuals continue to let them go unimpeded. You want gaming to get better? Get rid of Microsoft.
@Adol_Xin It's Zack Snyder... He hasn't done anything better than low tier mediocre in his career. People need to hop off his hype train.
As for the show, terrible. Absolutely nothing that needed such a production for and really just a way for Keighly to pay himself on the back, which upsets me because I generally like him and what he has done in the past. This year's should have been postponed, or done in a bunch of mini episodes released daily throughout the week.
@Kang81 What you're describing does not affect gameplay whatsoever. That's like crying about having to preorder for a 5% exp upgrade, or getting the deluxe version for a specific outfit that has a 10% damage buff... After using those items for a few minutes you'll almost immediately find something better and ditch it. You're blaming your lack of self control on FOMO, over cosmetics that don't matter in the end. It's not scummy when you fail to see how irrelevant the item in question is, it's just a lack of self control on your part and makes you the very thing driving the machine you claim to hate. The problem isn't Ubi, it's you.
Okay, and? They're cosmetics, completely irrelevant, and catering most likely to the Fortnite crowd like they always do. Between what is naturally unlocked in game, and the Uplay store for free, there's no point in ever opening the MTX shop, in any game, ever.
@StrawberryTurtle No they don't, their last exclusive in any factual right was in 2015 and they've officially been 3rd party (from Phil Spencer's mouth continuously since) 2017. It's amazing when "gamers" who visit gaming forums have no more intelligence on the industry than random Instagram commenters.
Excellent comic, terrible developer and publisher. I'm hesitantly excited because of the source material (and anything to get my mind off the horrible Seth Rogen movie is welcome 🤮🤮) and how dedicated they have to be to do it right, but I don't have much faith.
Rocksteady had always been rumored to be doing a co-op 4 player, gritty Turtles adventure after the Arkham series finished, so they would have been the best bet. It's still too early to judge though.
Live service games are never to be supported regardless. It's great they're finally moving away from garbage and getting back into making actual games.
As for CDPR... I've yet to see them male a good game worth playing, and no, the incredibly awful Witcher series doesn't come close to being good. That's like saying R* has made a good game, it's factually incorrect.
The layoffs suck, but as we typically see with poorly managed studios who don't put out good games (see Arkane with all their terrible releases for more proof) it's inevitable. There's surely talent there, but sometimes teams don't work well together and they must be split. CDPR just needs to shut its doors before they release yet another terrible game.
@dschons 🤣🤣 Xbox isn't dominating in any sector except by gaining a monopoly in the 3rd party industry, as Phil Spencer made clear he would do when he took Xbox 3rd party back in 2017.
@Czar_Khastik that's actually the problem, there are too many anti-consumer GAAS titles and people have the attention span of squirrels. Real gamers don't play this garbage, we play real games with substance not shallow deathmatch modes
Jfc... Don't support anti-consumer GAAS titles people. Any game with a built in expiration date should be avoided at all costs! If you can't look at a game and say with confidence you can play it 20 years from today without others involvement, it's not worth your time.
@Cashews Any developer that forces players to not only play the PvP side of the game, but adds trophies to that (which almost assuredly impacts how that mode is played) is not a top tier developer in any respect. Any PvP mode should absolutely 100% NEVER have trophies tied to it. This has been a cardinal sin for well over a decade.
@sanderson72 the PS4 factually being a last gen console has no bearing on the fact the PS5 is the current gen console and PS5 will be next. There's nothing confusing about that. The day a console launches it is now the CURRENT GEN; it is the primary focus for the company and developers. Power, games, features, length of time on shelf, etc mean jack *****. The day it launches, the old hardware becomes last gen and the new hardware is current. You as a consumer can almost never play, touch, or even own any next gen hardware.
Pretty neat they're going to give us next gen features from machines that don't exist yet on current gen hardware. We've only been in the current gen since November 2020, how are people still ignorantly using the "next gen" tag? Launch day is when it goes from next, to current. It doesn't matter what games are out, how long it's been out, whether you still don't have one yet, etc, the day it launches it becomes current.
@Relygon There was no subpar performance in the demo, and even if you did experience something you certainly didn't experience anything worth complaining about.
Literally a non-issue, we're talking about software programming. Nobody can ever account for all anomalies in any situation and anyone who has an issue with this or can't understand that is incredibly foolish and ignorant. No lies here, nothing shady, we have real issues in the world to worry about.
The D1P is so miniscule it'll download before you can get a drink and use the bathroom prior to game time. If you're up to date with life and bought the digital version, it'll all be downloaded before you wake up on launch day. If you got a disc, which is nothing more than a key for the digital content, then you have no reason to complain about your poor choices.
As for the person who mentioned that some aren't as privileged, yeah that sucks, but gaming is a luxury too and not a right. We sometimes have to live with the hand we're dealt and blaming the companies is not the right course of action. As for "breaking the bank" to afford a PS5.... How is it virtually nobody knows you can use Klarna on the PlayStation Direct website? Or that numerous retailers will offer Affirm, or After pay? Or, apply for PayPal credit and use that.
You're surprised a TV show based on an awful game looks awful? TM was "good" in a time when gamers didn't know what good was. Go back and play them today and they're objectively awful, not because time hasn't been good to them, they were awful games upon release! OoT will always be a good game, Mario 64 will always be a good game, MGS will always be a good game... TM? Never was. Get off the nostalgia train.
Anyone thinking games are expensive today is clearly far too young to have a profile on a message board. He's not wrong, each new title seems to hit record numbers despite being "more expensive". Nevermind the fact that games in the SNES/N64 era regularly hit $50 - $70, and aren't even half as big and involved as most games today. Now, are most games today worth $70? No, but the only ones complaining are casuals who don't really play good games, these are the same people who think GTA, CoD, Halo, and Madden are good. We real gamers know gaming is a luxury, an inexpensive one at that, and if you're also buying digitally you know it's cheaper than ever to be a gamer today than it was 20 years ago.
If you disagree, you're not old enough to have this conversation, simple as that.
@Ben7982 Neither one of those games are good though, that's the problem. The only reason they're continuing despite Bungies highly anti-consumer business practices with the Destiny franchise and Bethesdas utter lack of ability to craft a decent game, are the naive and blind Bungie and Bethesda fanbases. It's like the R* fanbase, they've never actually played a good game so they don't know any better.
@iero before Sony remembered indie games existed? Lmfao, what rock (no pun intended) have you been living under 🤣. DRG has been a dud even with PlayStation's support, and using Gamepass for any metric is utterly hilarious 😂. Even Microsoft doesn't take GP seriously, everytime they use it to brag it's only about a failing game! Gears 5, biggest launch in history, utter flop. Sea of thieves, 22+ million players! At any given time you could log in from launch and hardly find anyone to play with. FH5... Yawn. DOA. Halo Infinite 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 let's not even with that collosal trainwreck. I can't wait to see what they say about the day 1 multiplatform pronoun-field. As for early access, nobody with a brain supports it or cares about it in any capacity. Be mad all you want at these facts, but that's what they are; facts.
@RedRiot193 You've clearly never played a PlayStation game. 10 hours of cutscenes is accurate, and appreciated for us real gamers who play for the narrative journey, but the gameplay aspect is generally twice that length if not more. Either you have zero knowledge of PlayStation games, or intentionally rush through them to make this false claims. Regardless you're easily disproven.
Another facet of incompetence from CDPR not allowing trophy progress to carry over despite allowing your saves to. Then again we already knew they adequately suck at developing games; TW3 was the 2nd biggest trash fire of last gen, Cyberpunk is still a garbage fest of the current gen, and now TW3 has vomitingly-induced us with more nauseating sickness. Here's to an entire generation of MORE casuals calling this "game" GOTY 😂
Masterpiece? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 This was easily the 2nd worst game of last gen by a LONG SHOT. Awful characters, dialogue, combat, controls, quests, narrative... Everything about this game has been done 10x better in hundreds of games.
Only someone who plays less than a few hours a week and no more than 3 games a year would call this game anything positive. Any real gamer would play this drek and tear it to pieces with how bad it is. Masterpiece.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
10/10 - The story is excellent, one that will be called a classic in another decade. Gameplay is phenomenal. Price is an entirely irrelevant factor, we're talking about the game so anyone saying price comes into the equation is literally just looking for a reason to knock points off. The price fluctuates, sales happen, so using price in a review is ignorant at best and shows you lack the reasoning skills to write a proper review.
