@themcnoisy To be fair I know GameStop is a business and I never said there was nothing wrong with that tactic. I was only stating that they are most likely stoked because of the money they are going to make. Please don't respond to me like I'm a moron, because I'm not.
I will laugh so hard if Shawn Layden walks out on to the E3 stage and announces that Crash Bandicoot is back. Then pulls out a Crash Bandicoot Skylander figure from his pocket and say the figure is exclusive to PlayStation platforms. No new title, just a cameo in Skylanders.
Ha, GameStop is stoked about the idea, because they can (and most likely will) lower the buy back price of the vanilla PlayStation 4 a few weeks before the rumored PlayStation 4K goes on sale. Money, money, money.
Very interesting. I was hoping Agent was the next R* title to release. I think they even re-uped the trademark for it last summer. If the next game from R* is a Red Dead game that’s cool too. That map looks very un-Rockstarish and the coordinates overlay do not fit over the whole map, so if it real hopefully that's not the final version of it design wise.
EDIT: The more I look at the map it looks like the coordinates overlay is not flat on the map like it should be, but at some awkward angle. Artistically that look horrible and R* is a very design focused company. R* typography design is some of the best in the industry and that map does not live up to their pedigree.
Stories is by far my favorite game so far this year, one my top five games of this generation and one of my top five action RPGs. The combat is based on something the devs call sword-fu master the upgradable skills – counters, dashing, ect and the combat is smooth and very satisfying.
The overall narrative of the game is very mature, dark and violent which is contrasted by the cute animorphic inhabitants and brightly colored world. Similar to Bastion the game has a narrator. Unlike Bastion the narrator in Stories has a very dry, slightly dark sense of humor.
Funny thing is I pre-ordered both Stories and Ratchet not realizing they came out on the same day. I’m having so much fun with Stories that Ratchet will have to sit on the shelf for a while.
I keep thinking about the GAF leak that said the God of War 4 is being developed to take full advantage of PlayStation 4K. Resolutiongaters will have a new hobby of comparing games on PS4K and PS4 with clickbait articles, which will whip up the 20m plus vanilla PS4 owners into a frezzy. Sony just think of that headache inducing Pandora’s box you're opening with such a move.
Been playing MLB The Show 16. San Diego Studio has done a fantastic job this year. The new Conquest mode in Diamond Dynasty is the bees knees. Mixes Baseball with the Strategy genre. The new Battle Royal mode in Diamond Dynasty is pretty cool too, but is in much need of Forza like Drivatar type tech. In fact Head To Head and Battle Royal modes in Diamond Dynasty would be much better if you just played with others ghosts or Drivatars than a real human that just bails when they start losing or has a lovely internet connection, which drops them.
I’m also really impressed with Sony’s partnership with Baseball analytics firm Inside Edge to update daily players ratings every day of the 2016 season. Overall this year’s installment is great, but could use a kick in the rear to add a Drivatar feature to select modes.
I also dived back into Road Not Taken last night. Fun little rouge-lite puzzler that does my head in sometimes.
I was mildly interested in Zombi when the PS4 port was announced and planned on picking it up in a flash sale. Seeing how it free, it's a win for me. Happy as a rat this month.
Well I just finished and platinumed Saints Row 4: Reelected Edition and its two DLC packs. Now I’m on to the Gat Outta Hell standalone expansion. Fun times.
@get2sammyb I personally think the PlayStation 4.5 is just going to be the slim model with the ability to stream content from apps like Netflix, Amazon and ESPN in 4K and support Blu-Ray UHD discs as some films are releasing in 4K. Other than that it will be a PlayStation 4 in a smaller form factor.
