This is an outright lie. NO PS1 games on PS4/5 have trophies. Never had, never will. Remasters of PS1 games are an ENTIRELY different matter. But the original PS1 versions which are just emulations have never and will never have trophies. PERIOD.

Stop crying for trophies. When you will you understand that these are not remasters but simply emulations of the original games. They never had trophies and they never will have trophies. Just like they didn't on PS3. So many people just don't get this.

These are literally the PS1 versions of games. Down to every detail. And they will never have trophies, period.

lol this is certainly a unique approach. To make each new games trophy list a DLC list for an older game ? But only on PS5 and on PS4 it gets its own trophy list and platinum ? I thought Tomb Raider Remastered already was weird for only giving PS4 the platinum but the way CoD is doing it definitely takes the cake.

For months now fans have been really really vocal about wanting news for story DLC for Spider-Man 2 and I remember some leakers claiming that there will be 100 % even TWO separate story DLCs, one for Carnage and one tied in with Spider-Verse.

And on every new Sony streaming event, showcase, state of play etc. fans were telling Insomniac to finally make some announcements or give some news about it and Insomniac remained completely silent about it.

They KNEW that people were really hyped up about it. Look at the comment section for every single Insomniac post. Its flooded with story DLC comments.

I mean Insomniac knew that people were waiting for story DLC news and announcements for MONTHS. They knew they were hyped for it and grew more and more frustrated that Insomniac did not say anything about it. They could have told the fan community MONTHS ago not to expect any Story DLC instead of letting the fake hype build up. They deliberately exploited this. They could have been upfront, honest and fair with their fanbase, announcing from the start that there would be no DLC. Particularly since of course fans expected DLC after Spider-Man 1 had three of them. Yet they said nothing and kept fans in the dark and in false hope.

Now only when they announce their PC port do they finally let the spider out of the bag.

Insomniac is getting worse and worse as a developer since they have become a Sony studio. Like when they added the No Way Home costumes only for the PS5 version of Spider-Man 1 (at a time when you had to buy the Miles Morales Ultimate edition to even get the PS5 version of SM 1). I already said back then that they have become shady and greedy AF.

and the way they now handled THIS only really confirms me in that opinion.

Probably still gonna buy their Venom game next year (and Wolverine PS5 is of course a day one must buy) but as a developer they have lost a lot of credit and sympathy with me for treating their player base like this.

I ALWAYS said RE 9 would not be announced during the last State of Play and so many people online mocked me for it. Just as I always said RE 9 will definitely release Fall 2025.

So yeah reveal at Game Awards entirely possible. In any case the game is still a year away but will definitely be the next game in the series. Then Remakes of RE 0 and Code Veronica next probably between 2026 and 2028 as some of the last games before PS6 comes out.

This whole notion of "games that were released last gen shouldn't be remade" is total hypocritical double standard BS.

Resident Evil 1 was remade after only 6 years, same with Metal Gear Solid and they are among the most celebrated games of all time. Nobody complained about it back then either. Same with the remake of Tomb Raider which became Anniversary. All full price remakes, released 10 years or less after their originals and nobody complained about it.

Yet today people complain about full price remakes of games from the previous gen (in the case of Last of Us 1 even of two gens prior). Why is this so bad today but wasn't 20 years ago ?

RE 1 Remake also cost full price at release, only 6 years after the OG had come out. And everyone praised the F.... out of it (Deservedly so, its a fantastic game). But today remakes are only worthy to be made if the OG is 20 years old ?

lol yeah no *****. I watched the story on YT. Anyone paying 50 bucks for that is insane lmao. Story is short, weak, super predictable and worst of all just literally the same story as the main game with a bunch of added characters. Even with 6 additional characters the price is greedy AF and the half baked story they delivered is not even worth half of that.

Once DLCs start costing as much as an entire game, I am not playing ball anymore.

This is not sleazy by Sony as some claim, its a clever business decision. This will prevent people from getting the Remaster for cheap by just buying the PS4 version and then upgrade for 10 $. Sony is aware that people will try to exploit this and this is how they counter it. Its called business.

is it just me or does the PS4 version on the left looks a lot better ? more crisp, more detailed. the hair alone looks so much better.

I have been hit pretty hard by the graphics bugs (though thankfully only 1 crash) in FF XVI and since this is my first playthrough it was especially annoying. Happened mostly in cutscenes once you travel to a new location but sometimes in the environment and yesterday I had no graphics errors for hours but then suddenly the little preview windows in the abilities tab (where you can see what each ability looks like) was completely effed up, like static on a TV. Only those little preview windows though. Really weird.

Really hope that the new update can fix this.

If they would announce Resident Evil 9 (or the RE 0 Remake they are currently working on) that would be insane but I highly doubt it as the game has been delayed quite a bit in production (It was originally supposed to come out early 2025) and is not supposed to come out for at least a year.

Because Kojima didn't direct it. Makes perfect sense. With movies its the same. It only says "A Quentin Tarantino film" when he actually directed it, not if he only produced it. That title card is reserved for the Director, nobody else.

Just like the Resident Evil 4 Remake is not getting a "A Shinji Mikami game" title card or FF VII Remake is not getting a "A Yoshinori Kitase game" card (despite him producing it).

Enough with the fake Kojima hype.

Honestly this being Sony I wouldn't have been surprised if they would have released "PS5 Pro" versions of their First Party games again that need to be purchased separately lol

No offense but do we really need separate articles for every single feature of the Pro ? Its getting pretty messy and too much. We don't need 20 different articles on the Pro.

People assume that the base PS5 will also remain in production or even get a price cut. But what if the Pro will actually replace the base PS5 and be the only PS5 being produced going forward and eventually be the only PS5 available ? I can totally see Sony do that lol

Gaming used to be an affordable hobby even for those of us who are not rolling in money and have high paying jobs. Not anymore. Been playing Playstation for 25 years and this gen is the first time where I simply cannot afford new games at launch anymore or even to just buy a new controller whenever I want.

Yes the high price DOES make sense with inflation and all the components having become so much more expensive. Inflation has hit everyone hard. Its the reason for the waves of layoffs too. Costs are in desperate need to be cut. The problem is that inflation hits US far more then them. We don't have more money and EVERYTHING costs more. Some of us are happy that they can even get by at all under the current circumstances.

And this is something Sony in their endless arrogance simply ignores. They act like everyone has as much money as they used to and like everything else is just as affordable as it used to be. Gaming was BARELY affordable to me as it was in this gen. I had to wait years to even get a PS5 and really stretch myself to buy new games for 70 or 80 EUR.

Now Gaming in the future is just a luxury for the elite that I simply can not afford anymore. never thought I would see this day coming. Its like suddenly not being able as a movie fan to watch movies anymore.

And that price increase for first party games to 90 EUR is coming too. Bet on it.

PS5 is the end of the road for me I guess. No way in hell will I be able to afford PS6 until 2040 lol

I keep seeing "This game will be available for PS5 Pro". does this mean that you can only play PS5 Pro enhanced games on the Pro ? You can't actually play regular PS5 games on Pro ?

Been a Playstation gamer for 25 years but this is getting so insane. And this happening NOW with Inflation hitting everybody and its already hard for people to get by with higher prices and less money. Like there could not be a WORSE time for Sony to do this. Gaming used to be an affordable hobby but now I can't afford most games at launch and even a goddamn controller costs a fortune.

It is true though that Sony seems to have abandoned many of their greatest franchises, which irks me quite a bit - Uncharted, Last of Us, God of War, Crash are all in Limbo right now (and where the hell is Ghost of Tsushima 2 ?). Playstation keeps reinventing itself but the problem is that it needs to do that in the first place.

Thank god I am not into that multiplayer live service ***** which has poisoned gaming in recent years. Especially Playstations legacy will always be its single player games and their forced obsession with live service is really annoying. Remember what made you the greatest gaming brand in the first place.

But yes the rising costs for single player games is also concerning. I am all for the greatest cinematic quality but the costs and in turn the prices for games is becoming pure insanity. I can't actually afford to buy games at launch anymore and this is the first time in 25 years of Playstation gaming I ever have to say that. Especially with Inflation hitting us players (meaning everything is more expensive but we do not actually have more money to balance that out) I fear that gaming becomes an elitist hobby or forces gamers to indept themselves over consoles, games and gamepads.

Here in Europe the standard price for Sonys PS5 AAA games is even 80 EUR. Its gotten completely out of hand. Paying 80 bucks for a single game. Plus consoles that now cost almost 600 EUR, PS Plus subscriptions that start at 72 EUR and 70 EUR for an official gamepad.

I have been a gamer for over 25 years since the first Playstation and this is the very first gen where I can not afford to buy a new game at launch anymore. I did it with FF VII Rebirth and it really brought me to the limit. Everything is so massively expensive now but we don't have more money and gaming has become this really expensive luxury.

These days I never really buy games at launch anymore and just wait for sales or until I can buy it used on ebay etc.

And now these devs say 80 EUR base price is STILL not enough for them ? Do they seriously want us to pay 100 f..... bucks for a single game ? Thats like TWICE the price of PS1 games back in the day.

I was so much looking forward to Until Dawn on PS5 but not for 70 EUR. Thats insane. And I have been waiting for months for Stellar Blade to have a price drop and its still at 70-80 EUR everywhere. I don't care if I have to wait YEARS to buy games now, I am not paying that kind of money for a single video game.

I am a console player only so its not that relevant to me. However the big issue for me with Stellar Blade is the price. I have been waiting for a price drop because I just can't afford to spend 80 EUR on a game right now.
