@gbanas92 Oh jeez! Haha! It’s the ducking (and the whole bullet dodging thing) that gets me in Pistol Whip. But like you say, it does feel like you’ve actually done some good for yourself after you’ve finished a session. I want to support it so I’ll probably take the plunge 😀

Yep, just the £10 option for me now… which is a right pain. I often used the £5 vouchers.

I said the same thing when they took away point earning on PS+, if this is a greed move, it’ll hurt them in the long run. More often than not it was simply because I had the £5 off I’d end up buying things in sales etc that I probably wouldn’t have otherwise. So it’s their loss.

Hopefully I’ll still get the £10 off here or there. But if the points expire after a year then that’s probably unlikely. Especially not earning points on the PS Plus subscription.

I love the idea of this game, but Pistol Whip absolutely kills me! I’m a sweating wreck after playing that for 10 or so mins, so if this is anything like that I will struggle… or maybe I’m just horrendously unfit 😄

I am really looking forward to this… but a little scared. I’m all for a challenge in games, but the fact all the reviews have said this one is particularly difficult does stress me out a bit, mainly because I absolutely suck at turn based games 😄. Even in PSR which people see to agree is an easier one I got stuck in at certain places… but I will persist (after clearing a backlog which includes Persona 3 Reload… so may take some time! Haha)

Back to Last Of Us part 1. Haven’t played nearly as much as I’d have liked, but loving it!

And… booked my trip to Japan next year (it’s a long way off, but already counting down the days 😄) so might start something like Persona 3 or one of the Yakuza games I haven’t played yet (not that I plan on punching people on the streets while
I’m out there).

I love the original so much… I remember I’d just finished (as in left to be a sort of adult) school the year it came out, and got the cardboard box special edition which I think included a DVD making of? Used to play this way into the early hours of the night… and certain sections / bosses are forever ingrained into my memory. I was actually going to pass on this… felt like it was something that couldn’t be recaptured. But after the glowing reviews, maybe it is actually time for a revisit.

@XscapingReality I missed out on PS3 and PS4 dabbling with other consoles, so jumping to PS5 has given me this whole world of exclusives I’ve missed out on over the years, which has been a lot of fun 😀

About to start my first ever journey into The Last Of Us with Part 1. So that’s probably my entire weekend sorted! (In between killing myself during small bouts of Pistol Whip)

@PloverNutter oh totally, I didn’t mean to say they should abandon the franchise at all… because it clearly is very popular.

I meant more in terms of remasters. Because, even people who like the game seem to agree, this one wasn’t really necessary. And where do you draw the line? Will there be another remaster for these games when the PS6 comes around? Surely the best thing is to let the games be a product of their time and focus their attention in something new (wether that’s Horizon or something else).

I hate so much being the negative guy… and I really mean that… but this franchise leaves me so, so cold.

I don’t like the lead character, I didn’t like the law (to the point I was skipping through dialogue on my first attempted playthrough) and crucially,
I didn’t even really enjoy the gameplay.

We can’t all like everything, so this not being for me is fine… but personally, I wish Horizon would take a backseat, because there’s so much better stuff Sony could be championing.

Few people can put a smile on my face like Yoko Taro.

I’m convinced he’s got something big up his sleeve for us soon… until then, I’ll enjoy his photos of ramen and curry on Twitter!

Beyond deserved! I’m about 60 hours in and still unlocking new parts to this game. I’m taking my time and dipping in and out… something quite comforting about this game knowing it’s sitting there to return to.

Definitely high up on my games of the year!

Even more out there… a Yoko Taro VR game would literally blow the mind… but I’m really reaching there!

Been really hitting PSVR2 recently, and it’s been oddly great for the physio for my broken elbow… so have to play more games on doctors orders 😄

Tried Pistol Whip for the trust time… why did no one warn me what a work out that is? Have only managed to complete anything in classic on Easy mode.. tried normal and it almost killed me, never mind my elbow it’s my legs that’s are suffering now after all that ducking and swerving 😂. Awesome game though, and reason enough alone atm to have PS Premium.

Other than that I’ve been streaming some Devil May Cry HD collection which has been a lot of fun returning to after all these years… even if the camera angles are the real enemy of that game… seriously, how did we survive back then?

Horizon is such a strange one for me… I just can’t gel with it, and I really have tried. Never even finished the first game, don’t really have any interest in the sequel, and as for a remaster… not for me.

People clearly do like it, so hopefully there’ll be some hunger for it… but I’m hoping for other IP’s to get some love and attention.

Absolutely love it, just closing in on the end now and it been a total joy (even if the controller button planets made me shout a bit 😄)

Really hoping we do get some DLC, because I just know I’ll be craving more past the end credits!

Considering how often 2B’s costume gets flaunted around other games it is a bit odd.

I was secretly hoping for some FF or NieR related moment (okay, I know NieR was always unlikely, but it would have kept at least on Astro-botter happy)… just let Yoko Taro design his own level and see what madness he can come up with… I’d pay good money for that 😄

I wasn’t going to pick this up, I liked playroom as an introduction to the PS5, but thought a full game would be too much for me. However, I couldn’t ignore those reviews and caved yesterday.

And man am I so happy I did. This really is a new standard, it’s made with so much love and charm it practically oozes (or rumbles) its way off the screen. After feeling a bit down in the dumps for a while, this was the exact pick-me-up I needed, I’m smiling the second I pick up that controller, and can’t wait to jump back in. So thanks Astro! I needed that 😀

Owing to a slight accident involving two broken bones in my elbow resulting in surgery yesterday… not really able to play anything this weekend!

But… the PSVR2 should be excellent physio for the recovery, so back to that when I can! 😄

Taking away the point earning for subscriptions is a bit of a blow to be honest. It was nice having the odd £5 off here and there… and actually made me buy things I probably wouldn’t have otherwise, always spending over the £5 discount, so really they’re the ones loosing out.

Very odd move. Sometimes it feels like they actively dislike their customers 😄. But big corporations are always gonna big corporation I guess. On it goes.

They teased they had something new with Yoko Taro which was going to be revealed early this year… and here we are still waiting!

Clearly Replicant is getting removed because they’re about to announce a new NieR game and they think people will buy it after the announcement…

This is by far my most hyped PSVR2 game. The Alien / Aliens quotes I’ll be muttering to myself out loud with no one around to appreciated them will be off the chain!

I never actually played Bully. Always wanted to but it’s always escaped me. Reading through the comments it sounds as if it might be hard diving into it now, which is a shame!

I totally get it, it’s not for everyone. I’m really new to it. I got mine late last year when I came into some unexpected extra cash (otherwise I’d never have been able to), and got to be honest, I’ve loved my time with it. I don’t get motion sickness, but can’t play it for too long at a time, mainly due to having something strapped to you head. But it’s such a unique and new way to play games, it’s like learning all the basics you thought were ingrained in all over again, and that’s kind of exciting to me.

It’s funny showing it to people. Some friends who I thought would love it really had a rough time… and vice versa. Two people I know actually bought one themselves after trying it.

It’ll never take over flatscreen, and I wouldn’t want it to. I certainly don’t want every game to be in VR. But wanting, or taking glee out of something to fail just because you never picked one up, especially if you’ve never tried it, just strikes me as kind of odd.

Absolutely loved this game. Really hoping for some DLC or even another game at some point. Also one of the best game soundtrack from last year… in my totally non From Software fanboy opinion…

Still plugging away with the Elden Ring DLC, taking my time exploring every little corner… gotta find all that shiny loot!

And mixing it up with Unicorn Overlord which I’m still absolutely loving.

Also got my prescription magnetic lenses on the way for the PSVR2 so I can finally play without the fear of scratching it up… so might be time to finally dive into Legendary Tales before Behemoth and Alien hits!

This actually looks great! Setting and era look like they’re really captured, and that list of movie inspirations is perfect!

For those complaining about the who you play as… I get I guess, but from the looks of it this just looks like a great procedural crime game with a Michael Mann type vibe, and I’m totally down for that! Sounds like you can play it semi-dirty if you want as well, which is another nice spin.

@Korgon I think I that’s exactly it… the fact Elden Ring was so popular, they’ve had to cave. Which is a bit of a shame.

Let’s see these folks tackle the run to the blue Smelter Demon in the Dark Souls 2 DLC, then they really will have something to moan about 😄.

I’m loving my time in the Realm of the Shadow atm… taken out one (I think) main boss and cleared a few caves. Still haven’t been able to finish off that Blackgaol Knight yet… I will get him… one day…

This actually looks like a lot of fun and wasn’t on my radar at all. Once Shadow of the Erdtree has completely broken my soul I might jump into this to give it a little mech boost!

@Mythologue the run up to the Maneaters (and the actual boss fight) is the one I always struggle on. That one is brutal!

@Th3Solution I’m the same! I went back and played all the Souls games for the first time after beating Elden Ring and had a really good time with 2! Although the health lowering each time you die scared the hell outa me 😄. Still got 3 sitting there waiting for me when my backlog clears up.

Like most it’s a journey to the Realm of Shadow this weekend… and with any luck I might by Sunday actually defeat the Blackgaol Knight about 5 mins into the game 😄

Also been playing through Unicorn Overlord, which will definitely be a nice break if things in Elden Ring get too intense. Honestly, Unicorn Overlord is a complete and utter joy and just looks stunning. I think it’s going to sneak in there as game of the year for me… don’t sleep on that one folks!

There’s not many creators I’d just blindly buy regardless if it looks like it’s for me or not, but Miyazaki has earned that stripe (sitting alongside Yoko Taro, although even I drew the line at the gacha games).

So whatever he’s got up his sleeve for his next outing, I’m all in!

That is a shame… in all honesty with FromSoftware games I like the trophies just so I can see roughly how many other people have beat certain bosses and feel good about myself (after hours of screaming at the tv.)

DLC all downloaded though, so let the glorious torture commence!

If it’s not a new NieR game, I’m going serious red-eye on them.

Still with Stellar Blade this weekend and really loving it. The open world / side quest side of the game are way bigger than I anticipated, so taken me by surprise a bit. But for now, more Stellar Blade can only be a good thing!

It really is deserved, even if I have had some technical hiccups.

I’m definitely very unlucky, (a quick google and no one else seems to be reporting issues), but I lost 10 hours of progress and my trophies got bugged.

I think it’s something to do with coloured blind mode (just a warning to anyone who might need that)… it randomly reverted to a 2 day old save right before I turned coloured blind mode on. And when I replayed parts of the game I’d lost, trophies like perfect dodge / executions count weren’t progressing.

Turned off coloured blind mode and it seems to have sorted itself out 🤞

Absolutely loving the game though, and even replaying those sections I found a few other collectibles I’d missed first time around, so not a complete waste… although a little scared to turn the game on today 😅

I’d be incredibly surprised if a certain 2B costume doesn’t make an appearance at some point…

…in other news, when they said they were taking inspiration from NieR they weren’t lying… had 10 hours progress randomly wiped loading up my save today, and it threw me back to a random save from 2 days ago… and to top it off, none of my trophies now seem to be unlocking.

I’m putting this data wipe down to a very obscure NieR reference 😂

Re-installing the game now to see if it helps, otherwise don’t really know what to do… this is why we need more than one save slot folks!

Not a the end of the world, just all the collectibles I stumbled across have got to find again. Luckily the combat is so good I don’t mind doing a certain mini-boss again!

@get2sammyb Had a major issue today! It seems to have wiped my progress and randomly gone back to a save from 2 days ago! Did you run into this?

Looking at it, might be when I turned colour blind mode on for my stupid eyes (was struggling to tell the difference between Blink and Repulse), but 10 hours of progress gone 😩
