I think it would be more fair for MS to also release SX2 (like a boring just hardware upgrade) at the 700-800 just to keep the audience and also the xboxPC Helix at a 1200-1500 as premium device. And have Helix play SX2 games and PC games.
I agree with many comments that if you were a series s owner or pure console folk you are kinda priced out or have a PC functionality that you might not need.
@GirlVersusGame to be fair you dont need to pay for any subcription like ps plus and the device is rumoured to be more powerfull than PS6. So you get the PC freedom at the higher price which makes total sense and always had been the case.
I totally agree that people who saw xbox as just console and those $300 series s owners are likely to be dissapointed. But does launching just another SX 2 console makes sense in the current environment - its pretty doomed to sell even worse regardless.
They lost the console war (and I see folks here still for some reason act like its still going) and pivoting to this PChybrid. Absolutely it will be nice device along with steam machine and mid-range pre-built PC market. I also envision little Timmy getting S2 on black friday instead of $700-800 PS6.
