Re: Sony Cancels Bluepoint, Bend Studio PS5 Games, One Being a Live-Service God of War Title

Sony will take the hit and likely learn some hard lessons - you shouldn't be spending $400m on one to start with. Less than a quarter of that created Helldivers 2 - a stellar game! Aim smaller and go for a unique spin, not a carbon copy.

Also, I think the radio silence on the 'real' games coming for 1st party studios has been due various beleaguering issues for whatever reason. If we had more of these alongside live service then people would likely be more positive about their inclusion.

To anyone reading this in 2025:

I just picked up the complete edition in the sale and this game kicks bum. The depth of the gameplay and lore is as insane as it is fascinating. If you love Warhammer 40k, or even if you're looking for an into (as long as you don't mind reading), this is the pinnacle.

The Void Shadows DLC is top tier and the second DLC is out this spring. Hopefully another season of content will follow, like with Owlcat's other games.

Would have been my GOTY for 2023 if I had played it and it had released in its current state. Better than Baldur's Gate III, if I dare say so!

@Ultimapunch ridiculous statement 😂 ray tracing offers tons of benefits to art design and can help level designers with work-rate and other, creative uses when it's implemented. 120fps, while not a necessity, is far more responsive and gives you a huge benefit in fast-paced, competitive games. FF7R isn't one that choose a high framerate mode for, however.

It's cool if you don't notice any of it but to claim it's a gimmick would have a lot of people, developers included, disagree with you.
