Sony will take the hit and likely learn some hard lessons - you shouldn't be spending $400m on one to start with. Less than a quarter of that created Helldivers 2 - a stellar game! Aim smaller and go for a unique spin, not a carbon copy.
Also, I think the radio silence on the 'real' games coming for 1st party studios has been due various beleaguering issues for whatever reason. If we had more of these alongside live service then people would likely be more positive about their inclusion.
@DennisReynolds you can tell it's heavy even on the Pro. Runs well with no DRS on the "balanced" PSSR option and VRR👍 I like that they left a frame rate counter in the menu too
I just picked up the complete edition in the sale and this game kicks bum. The depth of the gameplay and lore is as insane as it is fascinating. If you love Warhammer 40k, or even if you're looking for an into (as long as you don't mind reading), this is the pinnacle.
The Void Shadows DLC is top tier and the second DLC is out this spring. Hopefully another season of content will follow, like with Owlcat's other games.
Would have been my GOTY for 2023 if I had played it and it had released in its current state. Better than Baldur's Gate III, if I dare say so!
The budget for this one is not going to be reclaimed in sales. It'll sell, obviously, but my guess it'll be way under the target. Better get making deals with the subscription services! I wonder why people aren't looking fondly on it 🤔
@Ultimapunch ridiculous statement 😂 ray tracing offers tons of benefits to art design and can help level designers with work-rate and other, creative uses when it's implemented. 120fps, while not a necessity, is far more responsive and gives you a huge benefit in fast-paced, competitive games. FF7R isn't one that choose a high framerate mode for, however.
It's cool if you don't notice any of it but to claim it's a gimmick would have a lot of people, developers included, disagree with you.
@meistergeister while I'm sure your tone will draw ire, there's a clear disregard for Tolkien's lore, as you say. Just leaves the product feeling inauthentic. I'm sure it won't be a problem for many though. Curious to see what the next franchise is that gets 'updated'.

Re: Warhammer RPG Rogue Trader Completes 1 Million Transactions
Bar the bugs it's a far better cRPG than BGIII.
Come at me bros.

Re: Dragon Age: The Veilguard Director Is Leaving BioWare
Not surprised. Doesn't matter anyway considering this Bioware is a different company now.
Mass Effect Andromeda is still miles better than Veilguard. It eclipses it in gameplay and even the writing is no contest.

Re: Assassin's Creed Shadows Delayed Again, Now Out 20th March
@torquex I guess it'll be a boost for their sub service but fall short on sales then. Initially, anyway.
Re: Rumour: Halo: The Master Chief Collection Coming to PS5 This Year
@Prime_Objective would be fantastic to pick up and play on portable. I'm game. If it's true I'll see you on the battlefield 🫡
Re: Rumour: Halo: The Master Chief Collection Coming to PS5 This Year
This would be a huge boon to Microsoft. Halo would sell like hot cakes.
Re: The House of the Dead 2 Remake Lives! Launches This Spring 2025
The first one had awful controls on Switch and PlayStation. It also had bugs preventing use of the Move controllers on PS5.
I love House of the Dead but I'm not holding out much hope for the quality of this one.

@themightyant The voice of reason perfected. I'd bet you'd make a great middle manager. When's your book out?
Re: Horizon Hatred Simmers Once More As Sony Announces Movie Adaptation
@nessisonett 100%. Push Square need to write another article saying "YOU'RE WRONG" to all those readers as well.
As long as whatever it is aligns with my own worldview. Then I'll be happy 😌
