@KeanuReaves You say if the game is good, then people will buy it even if it is late, and that is the issue. The games sell a lot on PlayStation at launch by PS fans that will buy the slop, and by the time it comes to PC, you already have retrospective videos on YouTube showcasing that the slop Sony puts out are not actually good games. PC players end up not buying games that simply are not good.
I played the game for 40 minutes to an hour. So far the gameplay was fun, but everything else was just ok to bad. I think the art is ok, I don’t think it’s bad, but as far as pixel art goes, it is just uninteresting to look at. The voice acting and writing were bad. It annoys me that the voices, ways of speaking, and dialogue sound so modern in a game that takes place in Ancient Greece. I’ll probably keep playing it because I’m interested in the gameplay and what abilities and bosses there are in the game, but I understand why there would be criticism for this game and the series’s direction.
You want the game to fail because you are a Sony fanboy that’s upset the game isn’t exclusive anymore. I want the game to fail because 7Remake, XVI, and 7Rebirth are all terrible games and this game will probably be too. We are not the same.
I like how the PS5 Pro was marketed as not having to choose between performance or quality options and now games are getting performance and quality options on the PS5 Pro.
Rebirth never held my attention. I played under ten hours of the game and haven’t picked it back up. When the third game is officially revealed, I might play the game again to be caught up and see the series through in hopes that it gets better.
@FX102A people are coping about the economy and whatnot in these comments, but I think this is the real issue. Sony’s first party games are all very similar nowadays with cinematic games with a third person, over-the -shoulder, story-focused, action-adventure game with light rpg mechanics such as crafting and a skill tree. With those types of games comes soundtracks that aren’t focused on strong, memorable melodies and instead go with sounds that evoke certain feelings that might add to a scene, but aren’t distinct enough to distract from it.
Still nothing about Dragon Quest XII though. I still haven’t beaten Rebirth yet. I’m just looking forward to see what they do with FFXVII in hopes that it is interesting to me. The VII Remake trilogy’s story annoys me and XVI was a huge disappointment. I only beat the first Kingdom Hearts game so I can’t speak to that franchise. I’d love to play the games, but never find the time.
