Perhaps the reasoning for having a weak lineup for May is the fact that not 2, but 4 games were released last month, if you include the Journey/uncharted stay at home initiative. They might conclude: People downloaded 4 games last month... let's not go too crazy with AAA titles this month. I looks forward to when Days Gone is one of the PS plus games. I refuse to obtain it any other way, as I'm not exactly hurting for lack of content to play right now.
I think May's selections are a bit lopsided genre-wise. And while I do think that there is a sense of entitlement in many of these comments, it isn't altogether unjustified. As much as it states that these are free games, they aren't. They are a perk that is part of a package of a paid subscription template, so for people to be disappointed by the games that they, if not getting them for free, at least receiving a big discount as part of the subscription package, should at least be entitled to expect a diverse pair of titles, not two titles that cater to one demographic. That being said, I would personally have liked to have seen either one of these titles paired with Days Gone. I am purposely not buying Days Gone because I expect that once I were to cave in and do so, it will be on the "free game" program the very next month... Definitely far from the first time being inpatient about owning a game bit me in the end soon after.
