At its core yes it is false advertising, they made claims to hype the console up, as many people assumed if it could possibly run 8k then 60fps at 4k woukd be a standard however we were very much given a console that can barely do 60fps at 4k

And yes the same goes for Xbox as I believe they also advertised 8k but if I remember correctly they specifically stated that was for videos maybe that was what Sony meant too but forgot to do it

Either way this generation on both consoles has been full of disappointment and lackluster promises

God we need Microsoft to bring Forza Horizon over to PS, I played it at my mates house a few times and it was fantastic all these clones like the Crew and Solar crown just don't come close honestly

It's either going to be wacky and insane fun or it's going to be overly serious and ignore the absurd stuff from the games

Thank god let's just pretend the Jim Ryan cash comes first era didn't exist bring on a good future for playstation and go back to focusing on new games

But does it have all that realism of TDU2? Like using headlights, indicators, raising or lowering the roof, then all the interactions in showrooms and then things like walking around with other players in houses, garages etc? Or is just like NFS or Forza Horizon where it's just racing and open world in cars only?

Most casual gamers don't buy new games often they play the same few live service titles, cod, FIFA, Fortnite etc etc and those games rake in the money in micro transactions

Yeah I'm trying to think about the last Sony game where I actually sat back and thought about what had happened it was probably actually the Last of Us Part 1, since then in my opinion most of the exclusive have been great visual pieces but I've found them to be quite boring story wise and gameplay has been a mixed bag with God of war being fun but Spiderman 2 and Ghost of Tsushima feeling like Ubisoft gameplay

But outside of Sony we have been seeing a lot more narrative games reaching great heights with Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, Baulders gate 3 and many other Indie/AA studios, it will be nice to get some really good stories in Sony games again

Sorry but this outrage is laughable, pretty much all major games and studios require some kind of online connection for either installation or day one patches and a lot of games require always online for DRM stuff but I guess the last 10 years are fine but when Ubisoft does it I guess it's time for an over the top meltdown xD

I guess I am just too out of touch but I really don't get this huge Horizon push, the first game was good but it was nothing special the concept is fairly generic too as its been done countless times in books

They have so many other amazing IPs that they are letting die instead of reviving m, I guess the current youngish generation just loves this franchise

Can't blame them, I brought the PS5 in the first week and it is the biggest waste of money, there has really been nothing ground breaking or special this generation, nothing has stood out as truly next gen, and I think a big reason for that is cross gen, hopefully the PS5 Pro brings some proper next gen games

@3Above it wasn't the PS store, it was the Steam store

A better way to explain it is this, imagine you just brought a new popular game on your PC, after spending hours and hours and money on in game items suddenly Sony decides they will take that game away from people in over 100 countries with no refunds

That is why people were getting angry because essentially Sony was about to steal from 100s of thousands of players, luckily Steam stepped in and allowed refunds which in turned made Sony pay attention as they were seeing their money leaving their greedy little pile

The only reason Sony reversed this is because they were about to lose money and reputation

Can't wait for the PS5 Pro then we can get a whole show of remakes and remasters yet again...

@OnlyGaming exactly, I mean realistically both Xbox and Sony could make their first party game free on their respective flagship consoles with a Gamepass system and then sell those same games on PC and the opposite console that way the loyal fans still buy said console for the free games and other games can still buy I actually think this will be the way the gaming landscape goes in the next decade, Microsoft is already showing that it can be done and ots successful and Sony is having huge player numbers on their PC releases

It's probably because the PSVR2 has a tiny playerbase, is overly expensive (needing a PS5 and headset) and then you have the costs of developing it for that specific headset why waste all that money on a dead VR headset when they can focus on the Meta Quest which is the leading VR headset as well as the leading headset for Steam VR users

I said it when the PSVR2 came out Sony would just pump and dump it to make a quick bit of money of their die hard fans who buy anything Sony same as that PS portable device thing that was quickly forgotten about, I really don't know what's going on over at Sony these last few years

@Pompey71 exactly I genuinely don't see the need to buy the next Playstation console, I could just get a PC and then play Xbox, PS and PC games all in one place with better performance and visuals console gamings time is coming to an end for better or worse

@Futureshark that's fads for you, and both Palworld and Helldivers 2 got lucky they both released in a drought of good games but no doubt something will come and replace HD2 at some point as that's how these flash fads work

It's so funny to read this honestly, just goes to show all the fanboys on both sides saying X console has no good games or this game sucks etc is all just because they can't have it, for years PS players were saying how bad all Xbox games are and how they having nothing worth buying,

If at any point you were a person who said something like that then you have to ask yourself if such an awful Xbox game is the top pre order on PS5 what does that say about our own situation

@__jamiie that's how it goes on these type of sites though, look at everyone praising Sony for Helldivers 2 when they had pretty much zero involvement in it but as soon as something bad comes out that Sony's done they shift the blame on to anything else they can do

It's cool more games are doing this I thought it was a fun idea in the souls games and it worked well in the Bethesda games

@MrMagic well still it shows that Sony know their console exclusives don't make enough money to be viable to be a single platform release anymore, I would anything that next generation of consoles we will see the beginning of the end of console exclusives, if Sony is bringing games to PC and mobile this generation to recover costs once we get even bigger and costly games they will once again need to find more money to cover them

So that's a former Exec and the current Sony games COO Hiroki Totoki both in agreement with Phil Spencer of Xbox saying exclusivity is a thing

Hiroki Totoki said that exclusive games do not make enough money on just PS5 alone which is why they started to bring them to PC to try and recoup some of the costs, he also mentioned that he wants to bring more games to PC and other platforms (he left "platforms" a bit vague but it seems like he means other consoles), I think games like Helldivers 2 is a good example as like 80% of that playerbase is PC players had it just been a PS5 game it would likely have started to die out already

The future of no exclusives or at least a move to just timed console exclusives is coming much quicker than fanboys would like to admit, like now we can just get a PC and play the best of PS and Xbox and to be honest this will be the best future for gamers

@UltimateOtaku91 as a mainly PC player I would argue that both Xbox and PS fanboys are extremely deluded and cult like Xbox fanboys worship Phil and PS worship Jim Ryan both to cult like levels and don't get me started on how pathetic the people on both sides are with PS and Xbox fans constantly review bombing each others games, fighting in comment sections and even doing what you are doing

These are plastic boxes with a logo on them... Ran by billionaire companies who don't give a damn about anyone of the players only money and yet they have cults of kids worshipping them

I mean people act like this games success is from the Playstation 5 console... Nah the reason this game is so big is because of the PC market, we were sorely missing this type of game so when it launched we embraced it, same with Palworld sure it's on Xbox but it's successful because of PC, and Helldivers 2 is the same, exclusivity is just dumb these days with games costing so much and so many requiring lots of players for multiplayer we need to bring them to other platforms, with Sony recently talking about bringing their games to other platforms I guess they have finally realised that locking a game to a single platform isn't getting the most money and with how much games cost they need as much money as possible

We just have to hope the Devs keep up with constant content or most of us on PC will end up moving on within a month when the next big thing drops
