So unless they've actually converted this correctly to 60fps, it's not actually worth playing in it, K2 has the same issue 3 Remastered has where enemy hit stun duration is tied to framerates, so doubling the framerate halves the stun duration.
This means enemies recover from hits quicker than they should and start blocking, so many combos just flat out don't work at 60fps, enemies just block too frequently.
And this is exactly why I let mine run out last year, then grabbed it on discount the first day, unfortunately those compensatory days they gave us earlier this year have pushed my end date forward a few days but I'll still be able to resub on the 28th, I also use PSN gift cards which are on sale and end up getting the highest tier for a year for about £70 out of my bank.
@DaveTheRave I wouldn't say that's a given, the bottleneck for a game like GTA is always going to be the CPU, not the GPU, and the Pro is running the same CPU as the Base model just slightly overclocked. It's everything that's going off in the world that affects it's performance and none of that is alleviated by a better GPU.
It's slightly higher CPU clock might just about make a difference but the far more likely scenario here is either no 60fps on any version, or both will get it but the Pro version will look better for it.
@THGhost Like a lot of games on PSN, you get both versions with a single purchase, so it's more "Select the PS4 version for download when you buy it rather than the PS5 one."
Given that there's going to be very little difference, if at all, between the two versions, and that you get both anyway, the only issue here is not knowing beforehand which to download based on what you want, if you want platinums, pick PS4, if you don't care, pick PS5.
@GamingFan4Lyf RGG has a lot of Devs who were ones that created VF in the first place, so it's a much simpler connection, they're just back to making VF. It's where the VF team went and has been this whole time, making LaD.
Nearly all of the arcade games featured in LaD are ones they all personally worked on or have some connection to, like Sonic the Fighters using their VF engine, in the first place, it's like their own little greatest hits. They're a bit of a "Sega All-Stars" team but it's not something that really gets mentioned.
I've done without Plus since last December specifically because of this as it happens every year, you can get the discount if yours ends during the sale, so today I got the premium tier for £83.99 and use Shopto cards to get that down to £74.25. I've then set it to cancel when it runs out on 22/11/25 when the sale will likely be on again, and I'll renew then again.
By lining up the dates with the start of the sale I should be good for getting it at the discount for the next few years.
Not really surprising there's still texture and pop-in issues, it's a UE4 issue and it's always been an issue with UE as a whole. It's been getting better with it with each new number but it's a constant flaw with the engine.
It's not something you can brute force fix by throwing extra hardware power at it either, the engine just doesn't handle texture loading as well as it needs to.
@get2sammyb That sales data is firmly on new purchases only, it doesn't include second hand, of which there's still a fair few options in the UK for that. I mean, if it was genuinely doing so bad, you'd see places like CEX drastically lowering their used games sections, selling them for much lower, and offering much lower trade-in/buy prices, which simply isn't happening. The push to digital isn't because physical players are the minority, it's because there's big parts of physical sales that Sony don't get their hands on.
Even with new games, physical is always cheaper where I am, and not by a small amount either, new games are usually around £50, as opposed to £60-70 for the "Privilege of downloading a revokable licence for it". None of this is to do with a minority market, it's to do with a market Sony doesn't want to exist.
As for the scalped drives, I said as soon as they announced the Pro those drives were getting scalped, and here we are. They're going to be like this until at least after xmas now because Sony has always been atrocious with their restocks, and scalpers use bots to buy quicker than you ever could.
@DennisReynolds Not entirely sure how pointing out that someone is willfully ignoring what's being said is "flaming/arguing" but I'll say it again...
Deluxe Remaster IS the original game, it was ported from MT to RE, all those things were there at the start and then removed later on once they decided to get rid of them for being inappropriate. The devs even said they discussed keeping or removing them at length and then decided to remove them, not decided to not add them, remove them.
Saying they were never a part of it is objectively wrong, they were in the game because it is the original game at it's core, and removed later on in development.
This isn't a ground up remake where those things never existed, it's a port with extra work put in to it, some of that work involved removing stuff that was already there and fully functioning, all that stuff HAS been removed, that is objective fact.
@DennisReynolds So you've been chiming in about this without knowing a single thing about it?
The Erotica category for photos and quests involving the category, that category has now been removed and related quests have been changed to something else to compensate.
Cheryls clothes have been changed to be less revealing.
They've removed lines that mention communism.
There's other things you can look up but that's three related to what I brought up in my original comment. Now to reiterate, as this game began with a port of the game from MT to RE, these things were in the game at the start and were since removed during development.
As I said I don't particularly mind these for the reasons I said in my original comment, but to say they weren't part of the game from the start as you did is objectively wrong, they were there and then they were removed/changed. This wasn't a ground up remake, it's a port with some extra effort.
@DennisReynolds Dude, you clearly don't know what you're talking about.
This is an MT Framework to RE Engine game, as in they took the original completed game and ported from the old MT Framework to the new RE Engine, and they worked on it from there.
This means everything they removed was in the game at the start of the project. This is one of those weird "Remakester" games, where the changes are extensive to the point of being on-par with a remake, but it was built off the top of the original game like a remaster is.
Now I don't particularly mind the changes, the erotica stuff of just not rewarding you for perving anymore but still allowing you to take those pictures if you want is fine. The stuff that's blatantly changed just for the chinese market isn't quite as good considering they could just do a separate version for there. Saying this stuff wasn't there to begin with as a justification is just plain false though, it was there and it was removed.

@Bramble Looks like we're finally getting in to that war they talked about at the end of TPS, so a bit more of a serious take could be warranted.
