@Pat_trick No, not with the benefit of hindsight. Nintendo might have key cards, but most games are still on the cart. Plus, Microsoft & Sony have been doing the same for years. But the real tell tale sign is that Nintendo has the lowest ratio of digital to physical sales. In Japan, it's barely over half. I still expect the S3 or whatever follows to not take physical media too, but this is the outcome I saw.
@KawakiisaFraud Oh, you mean the same way they've completely shut down the Wii servers, so you can no longer re-download your games? Nope. Never mind. I was mistaken. That system came out 19 years ago & that still hasn't happened yet.
