@misterMike my advice would be don't let being late to the party put you off if you're playing in co op. While I completely agree with you that if it's a PvP game then you're fighting an uphill battle catching up with day one players, but my fiancé and I have come in late to playing both Elder Scrolls Online and Warframe together and we've been much better off for it as both games have undergone massive improvements since launch and have been a ton of fun ESO cost us peanuts too.

Re: Fallout 76 Is Getting Review Bombed by Irritated Fans

I think it's worth mentioning that despite the performance issues on PS4 (which would understandably affect the user scores), Fallout 76 is currently sitting with an even lower score for XBox One (and PC is only faring slightly better). So it's pretty safe to say that gamers on any platform are, for the most part, unimpressed.

Re: Activision Pondering Faster Content, New Monetisation for Destiny 2 After Forsaken Sales Fail to Meet Expectations

I think this just sums up Activisions current business modelnto a T; the franchise isn't making us as much as we want because gamers aren't returning cuz the games have been kinda disappointing so far, so let's introduce new monetisation options to milk the existing player base for everything they've got before we piss them off and they leave too!

It's pretty sad really, especially when you consider that Activision used to release great games. Used to. Now whenever you see their name attached you have to wait and see how they've screwed it up before deciding whether to lay some money down or not. The same applies to EA.

"Jet Set Radio and Space Channel 5 are so old now that they mean next to nothing to most people"

Except Space Channel 5 is due to make a come back on PS4 in VR shortly, and Jet Set Radio Future is a highly requested title for backwards compatibility for XBox One... Or even better, a remaster or entirely new game in the series
