Re: This Is the New PS5 Slim, It's Claimed

FishDude

@REALAIS exactly this is actually a good thing. The digital version will just have a half cover attached on it that doesn't have the slight bump they are talking about with the external disk attachment. This allows people to resell the external disc. Let's say You get the disc based one but you never actually use disks. You just buy digital. Well what you could do is you could pull it out and sell it on eBay. And then buy the digital ones cover for cheap. And vice versa. You decide you want a disc reader. Go out and buy one from somebody selling one on eBay. Obviously Sony selling it is going to be extremely expensive. So good luck going that route.

Re: This Is the New PS5 Slim, It's Claimed

FishDude

@trev666 the box will come with a USBC to USBC cable to charge the controller. Why? Because it should have always had 2. USBC is superior and there is absolutely no reason to have a type A port on the front. On the back there will be 2 for you to plug in an external HDD for PS4 back compact. And for any headset dongles. Going forward I wish they would not sell PS5 headsets with a type A dongle. Everything should move to type c.

Re: This Is the New PS5 Slim, It's Claimed

FishDude

@deathaxe I think the reason the Spider-Man one is still in the same old case is so they can sell the front and back plates for the original model so anybody can have the same system look.
$449 price is my guess going forward on the disk based version. What will be really intriguing is if they can drop the price of the digital only to $349 or $379 or something. That would be killer. $349 is the price of the new 1tb series s and that is a much weaker console.

Re: Reaction: Sony's Positive PS Plus Reboot Proves the Value of Catalogues

FishDude

I haven't had a PlayStation since the PS2 days. I kind of left after Halo became really popular in Jr high for me. Went full Xbox. In recent years I've been bored of Xbox. It's on 2020 I bought PS5. And I found on CD keys $26 PS plus cards. Just on a whim. I bought 8 years of them lol figured that the PS4 lasted that long. I'll just buy 8 years for a super cheap price and then called it a day. (I haven't bought one single game, I've just been playing the PS plus collection and all of the free games throughout the months I got from PS Plus) I luckily had a one-month PS now card laying around (I was waiting to use it. If Miles Morales ever came to it for PS5). Now I'm going to be upgraded to PS Plus Premium till November 2028. This is an amazing collection of games 10/10 for me. I've been a die-hard Xbox fan for a long time. But gosh dang I'm bored as heck of gamepass. Sure, it might be awesome for a lot of people. But I'm not super impressed with their offerings. Well I won't be renewing my gamepass at all and I'm going to sell my Xbox when game pass ends? because I really don't play it much anyways. Looks like I'll be set for PlayStation till 2028!

Re: Sony Confirms PS Plus Subscription Stacking Has Been Blocked

FishDude

@get2sammyb Sony technically never blocked you from using your cards if your subscription has ended. So they are going to be fine legally. They are only blocking stacking. I was surprised in 2020 when I found Plus for $26 that you could stack them. I came from Xbox where you could only stack 3 years. I was stoked for my new PS5 so i stacked 8 years lol. Sony never needed to allow this. And until you guys started to complain most people never stacked. Blame yourself for not looking out for the best deal you could. I did and I knew $26 was a good price per year for 36 games free to play over the months 3 each month $0.72 per game.

Re: Sony Confirms PS Plus Subscription Stacking Has Been Blocked

FishDude

I will be converted to November 2028 Plus Premium so im excited but Microsoft technically has 3 subscription services also. Xbox Live Gold(Plus Essentials) GamePass (Plus Extra) and Ultimate(Plus Premium, both of which come with cloud gaming). Downside to Gamepass is it doesn't come with live gold online multiplayer for non free to play games. Only Ultimate does. But Plus Extra does come with Multiplayer. But doesn't come with bran spanking new games but is cheaper if buying 1 year at a time. Overall Ultimate is better but currently it doesn't have many games that interest me. I'm way more stoked for Plus Premium. Now i just wish Sony made a new handheld!

Re: Sony Confirms PS Plus Subscription Stacking Has Been Blocked

FishDude

Yep I was exactly right. I said they would pro rate the cards just like how Microsoft does with live gold cards if you are already a Game pass ultimate subscriber. But what they should have done is what Microsoft does if your not a Ultimate subscriber and let you add 3 years of PS Now and convert it to Plus premium.

Re: PS Plus Pre-Paid Cards Don't Work, Subs Can't Be Purchased on PS Store

FishDude

@twztid13 yeah I understand how that works. But trying to explain that to some rando that pays for month memberships to Xbox live Gold or PS Plus is going to go way over there head lol. I have Xbox game Pass ultimate (on the live gold to Ultimate conversation for $80, My sister actually works at Microsoft so I get $50 24 month memberships and $30 1 year memberships. I just barely up to myself another 3 years because my last 3 years ended lol) and I have a series X not going to lie though. I like my PlayStation more even though I've been a Xbox guy but I have yet buy one game
on PS5 because I've been playing the collection. So I'm freaking stoked that I'm finally going to get upgraded to premium to be able to play some better games like the new Spider-Man and such. I'm crazy cheap. I don't like to pay for things but I did pay for 8 years of PS Plus because it was a good deal.
It's too bad. Sony didn't just rebrand PS Now and include an option to up grade to the new version from PS Plus for free or pay the first month. Kind of like Xbox game Pass ultimate. Microsoft entirely made a new subscription service that was different than gold. Sony decided to get rid of now which was separate then plus and then just make plus the new things and keep a crap plus essentials around to basically screw over. Any chance of you being able to get any deal like Xbox gives. Sucks.

Re: PS Plus Pre-Paid Cards Don't Work, Subs Can't Be Purchased on PS Store

FishDude

@zupertramp I don't think they should have stopped the stacking, that was lame and anti consumer. But for me paying $200 ish bucks for PS Plus for the life of the console (Which i thought to be 8 years) was well worth the price for entertainment. I own my own car but even if i had a loan I still would have got the 8 years out of the way done and over for my entertainment. Well worth the price. I was just lucky to have a PS Now card if i didn't have that i wouldn't have got the cool upgrade to Plus Premium.

Re: PS Plus Pre-Paid Cards Don't Work, Subs Can't Be Purchased on PS Store

FishDude

@hoffa007 It dose not matter for any reason why i used my PS Now code. Its my code i own it and i paid for it. I can use it anytime i want. Its not an exploit. It is a 100% valid code. I used it after the stacking was blocked. The code still worked because its not an exploit. Sony never blocked my code. Its 100% valid. I find it funny everyone its claiming EXPLOIT!

Re: PS Plus Pre-Paid Cards Don't Work, Subs Can't Be Purchased on PS Store

FishDude

@stu123 I never used any exploit. PS Plus has always allowed you to add as many years as you have wanted. Back in 2020 when i did it. Back in 2013 people did it. 1 week ago when others did it. It was never an exploit. It was common practice. I just added a PS Now code Ive had since 2020. How is that an exploit? Its my code i have the right to use it. Do you just call everything and exploit?

Re: PS Plus Pre-Paid Cards Don't Work, Subs Can't Be Purchased on PS Store

FishDude

@RevGaming My Guess after the merger it will be just like how current Xbox Game pass Ultimate subscribers get pro rated amounts when they add an Xbox live gold code onto there account.
PS Plus 12 month codes will work after June 13th and they will add 6 months of PS Plus Premium to a current sub of Plus Premium or if not a current sub you could use them as Plus Essentials. They have a $60 value to them.
PS Now year codes now i don't know about that. One thing is there is hardly any active ones in circulation that haven't been added to the account already. Plus it would be super weird if Sony gave you Plus Essentials for the code or gave you only 6 months of a 12 month Now code. Cause the only offering they have now that is the same is the Plus Premium. My guess is they allow 12 month Now codes to be a full conversion after Jun 13th to Plus Premium given how little in circulation there are. Plus cards on the other hand will just translate to Plus Essentials or Pro rated $ to month for Plus Premium.

Re: PS Plus Pre-Paid Cards Don't Work, Subs Can't Be Purchased on PS Store

FishDude

@RevGaming I got about $100 easily so far in enjoyment out of the PS Plus collection(and i haven't played everything yet. Plus i find the free games well worth the $2 a month i paid. I always find some enjoyment out of the monthly offerings. Have you ever gone to a movie theater and spent $15 to watch a movie? lol i paid $2 and get easily more value out of that a month and it lasts way longer then 2 hours in the theater.
Any way you slice it you know you are just coming up with poor excuses.

Re: PS Plus Pre-Paid Cards Don't Work, Subs Can't Be Purchased on PS Store

FishDude

@RevGaming You guys make no sense. Do you live month by month? lol man if sony let you pay day by day for PS Plus would you pay them $1 a day? lol If you stacked 1 year on your account you are still stacking 12 months. Do you just expect to be dead in 13 months? The idea why someone would stack 8 years isnt a hard concept. They just bought a new system and the last 2 systems had 8 years or more lifespans. Get a solid deal for $26 a year heck yeah stack them up!

Re: PS Plus Pre-Paid Cards Don't Work, Subs Can't Be Purchased on PS Store

FishDude

@jrt87 Would you also be ragging in your pants if you loved Netflix and they raised the price to $50 a month and some rando like me paid for 8 years back when it was dirt cheap? Lol you are pathetic. Just because you don't see the "perceived long term value" in in stacking 8 years of PS Plus when you find it for incredibly cheap like i did for $26 (the lifespan of the PS4) doesn't mean i didn't. Grow up kiddo lol. Whats so great about this is i never had a PlayStation 4 or 3. Last PlayStation i had was a PS2. I got the 8 years cause i wanted the PS Plus collection for a few years to play them all and great benefits like 2-3 games each month for the equivalent of $2 a month. So i paid $200 about for those 8 Years. Got a bunch of PS4 games you paid and others for $40+ each with the collection. Then used my Now card i had and will pay only $10 for one month renewal and then get Tons of PS5 games to play including Spider Man PS5 at launch. And i never paid for 1 single PS4 game or PS5 game. lol and got GTAV Online free with my PS5. Just remember when you are paying $120 a Year for PS Plus Premium I paid $210 for Premium till November 2028.

Re: PS Plus Pre-Paid Cards Don't Work, Subs Can't Be Purchased on PS Store

FishDude

@Scob yeah seriously man. What a bunch of pathetic individuals. I'm brand new to PlayStation in 2020. Thought why the heck not on this deal add the full 8-year cycle of PS Plus and not have to deal with this again. It was like $26 bucks exactly each year off some Slickdeals post. The PS5 I bought through Costco came with a one month PS now subscription code. Little did I know that would end up being the key to it all. I was like I'll add that when PS now has some really cool game that I want to try and I just never got around adding it lol It was just sitting in the box of my PS5 haha. Enjoy PS plus premium my friend! I'm pretty excited to try this all out. I haven't bought any PS5 games so I get a place Spider-Man free which is super sweet!

Re: Sony Blocks Subscription Stacking As Pre-Paid PS Plus Cards Stop Working on PS5, PS4

FishDude

@jrt87 lol You are complaining that in 2020 when nobody cared about any of this and apparently nobody cared about PS Plus because websites were selling it for $25 a year and that I decided to stack eight years for the heck of it because I've never had a PlayStation and I thought oh the PlayStation 4 lifespan was like 8 years. I'll just stack 8 years of PS Plus and be done and not have to do it. Dang thing the entire time when Sony completely allowed stacking. And I just so happened to have a 30-day membership to PS now laying around after Sony announced that if you had both they'd upgrade you. And you're complaining at me?? Lol What a pathetic life you live. You need to grow up. I did grow up and made a great financial decision by paying 25 bucks well in advance for 8 years for my PlayStation 5 to have access to online services plus get a couple games each month and a paid off because I never had a PS4. I got the PS 4 collection which is a bunch of games that I was able to play. I haven't spent one dime on any game yet on PS5 and now being upgraded to PS plus premium. I won't need to spend a dime again for another 6 years!

Re: Sony Blocks Subscription Stacking As Pre-Paid PS Plus Cards Stop Working on PS5, PS4

FishDude

So I had stacked from 2020 PS Plus till 2028 cuz I found a deal for like 25 bucks each one from a sketchy website but it actually worked. Anyways I've never had PS now but the PS5 I got was from Costco and it came with a 1 month subscription to PS now card. Anyways, I just added it today. Here's what it says.
NOTICE: PlayStation Now is changing soon and merging with PlayStation Plus. If you purchase this subscription and do not cancel before this change, you will be migrated into the new PlayStation Plus and continue to have access to the same PlayStation Now benefits.

Ongoing subscription with a $9.99 (+ applicable tax) recurring fee charged every month until cancelled.
So anyways I took the chance and was hoping that it would work and also would put me on auto renewal and it did. It says it's going to renew May 27th. I made sure to add my PayPal to my account before and I already had like 80 plus bucks on my account in my wallet. So I'm hoping it renews May 27th till June 27th. June 13th the conversion happens and I'm hoping it just swaps both of those for my longest subscription PS Plus that expires in November of 2028!
