The best time to get a PS5 is when PS6 comes out.

I'm sure if we was looking at the concurrent players on PlayStation and Xbox, it would be higher than steam.

70,000 concurrent players for a SP game on Thursday isn't bad, and It might go up at the weekend. This isn't a flop or a runaway success, just a decent game doing decently well.

Ultimately what matters is that you enjoy the game, and if you don't that's also okay. If you aren't interested move on to something you are. EA don't need armchair accountants to speculate for them.

@TooManyBrownies Luke Stephens was pretty positive about the preview much to the dismay of his audience did not get a code and Dantics who was fairly critcal got one. Mortismal Gaming also got a code and is generally even handed and not afraid to call out flaws or bad practices. It's a 7-8 game for those who like action RPGs with light RPG mechanics, for others they are better off playing BG3.

Day one for me, I am looking forward to Thursday.

@MikeRobT101 To be fair I did have the bug with the voice acting not coming into cutscenes. Quite a few people I know had that. Or the one where Spiderman was a cube. I had a couple of crashes too. It's well reported online the patches they had to put out in the first weeks of the game being out. It was a software issue not a hardware one.

The most disappointing game Sony has put out In a long time, I'm glad they are moving on and hopefully Wolverine will be much better when it launches.

The market speaks and the numbers don't lie - the cold hard facts. Nothing STJV can do about game devs like DN and Ubi closing studios in France if they can't afford to keep them open.

It's going to be on Gamepass so it will be a shorter experience. I'm looking forward to playing it on there.

I find it useful for checking my storage, controller battery and Wishlist without the additional clicks. The backgrounds are nice too.

I'm looking forward to playing the game next year. Hopefully the extra time will give it some good polish. 6 months is a long time in Ubisoft dev time considering the whole thing takes only 3-4 years. Ultimately I will decide for myself how I feel about the game. Basing my opinion off of those who monetize through hype or hate doesn't work out.

Looks okay, I don't know about £45 okay though. Maybe £15 kind of okay. I'm a big fan of Anya Chalotra but a lot of her is lost on in the game from what I have seen so far.

Nobody will be laughing when Sony takes full advantage and creates a monopoly of inflated hardware and software prices. We need completion to keep Sony in check. With the console price increases, PS5 Pros high RRP and the controller price increase, we are already seeing the effects.

MS will ultimately will always make more money than SIE with it's strategy as It attracts the more lucrative PC and mobile market. It's console gamers who will suffer with anti consumer polices.

As soon as console prices get in line with PC gaming and cloud/mobile gaming get more advanced, SIE will be in deep trouble. Console gaming is meant to be the affordable alternative to PC gaming.

Seen a lot of discourse around SiE's profit Vs loss argument on various games. To clear a couple of things up, both sides of the argument are right. Astro Bot has made a solid profit alongside other 1P titles but did make a sizable loss of Concord. SIE operating profit is already razor thin hence the trend to increase hardware prices to compensate for software losses. The hardware hasn't gotten more expensive to make, but the software has.

Dead Island 2 would be good if I had not already played it over a year ago.

Looks like the Xbox marketing did zero damage to sales as expected in the real world.

@Savage_Joe Shadows will probably do quite well but sadly this game will really be swallowed up by Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 and Monster hunter wilds and Avowed will be available at no extra cost on game pass.

I'm looking forward to the game and I have surprisingly seen quite a lot of other players excited about the game. I don't think it will win over many of the older DA player base but it seems to be picking up a lot of new fans, me being one of them. Also why does everyone have to use the word "woke" for anything that might be ever so slightly out of the norm. It's such a cringe and lazy term that should be banned from existence.

I think this whole cutting spiders out of a game is a non issue. Based on the pre order numbers I'm getting from my workplace I don't think this is going to bomb like the echo chamber online thinks it is. PS unsurprisingly has especially strong numbers. Xbox, not so much haha.

Cheaper, comes with a stand and has a bigger cooling system/quieter fan. My PS5 slim sounds like a jet engine with the tiny NMB fan since day 1.

Sony likes to give the UK things last despite being the one of the highest profit countries for SIE.

There hasn't been a lack of articles about the game on this site.. with complaints of too many trailers.. the marketing can't be that bad.

If the game or company fail the only ones that suffer are the lower paid devs who lose there jobs globally into the thousands.

As one of the few impartial people on this site, it's good that MS are taking feedback to at least try and address their issues. Healthy competition into next gen is what will keep prices down, and prevent Sony from going all out digital like it wanted to with the PS5 (They thought the Series S was the main console until about a year before hence the CPU overclocking, sharp GPU uplift and the disc drive slapped on the side in addition to the digital version).

Sony should seek feedback with it's live service offerings to avoid something of Concords scale again.

I can't believe I rushed to get a standard PS5 pro when they are still in stock to pre order nearly a week later. How many units did they allocate to the UK? it must either be an awful lot or selling poorly.

@LifeGirl The standard lower paid devs are the ones who will suffer for this, not the millionaire shareholders. Nothing to celebrate about a company struggling or doing badly.

I just want to know when Sony plan on refunding pre orders.. no news yet.

I find that I can switch seamlessly between PS and Xbox controllers as they game and button layouts are identical so once you play one of each it gets hard wired to your brain. It's the Nintendo press A rather than X/A that messes me up haha.

Any ETA on the pre order refund? I haven't received mine yet.

FYI UK PS5 Pro standard back in stock (at time of this post) - probably got approved from a larger allocation as the UK is a big market for PS.

Managed to get the PS5 Pro standard about 10 mins ago and just waiting for my confirmation email. The Standard PS5 Pro is selling a little slower than I expected although I can't imagine there will be much stock left beyond this afternoon. The best part is they don't take payment until they ship, so almost anyone can pre order and just save up.

Just managed to grab a PS5 Pro, waiting for the confirmation email now.

Edit: Got the confirmation email at around 3pm.

@RagnarLothbrok One of those will get delayed out of Feb, I think KKD2 if MS doesn't delay Avowed.

Since AC Shadows is moving to Feb, does that mean a delay for KKD2 or Avowed, I can see at least one of these being delayed into March or April as Feb is getting very crowded and as much as people are hating on AC Shadows/Ubisoft online it will sell a lot more now with that steam day 1 and impact sales of others maybe except MH Wilds.

Either:

A: Laying low to avoid bad press in the 6 weeks leading up

B: A delay into Spring 2025 (Ubi aren't afraid to delay games a number of months when required/Due to new PS5 Pro updates). It would be very last minute to delay the game with a mere matter of weeks to go though.

Was okay, nothing mind blowing. Helped me to realise I won't be needing a PS5 pro until GTA 6. Ghost of Yotei looks okay but need to see more of it.

Played a few hours but got distracted by other releases. It's a beautiful game but didn't completely click with me in the 4 hours I played to date.

It's in my backlog now alongside 13 sentinels and I hope to play both in the near future.

Persona 6, nothing else will do.

@Yousef- @dskatter They just publish the game, all of the external dev teams are still in place.

If Sony wants to play stupid games, they will surely get stupid prizes.
