@ThroughTheIris56 I disagree, especially in this case. The Mass Effect remasters are still running on UE3, they had to make a lot of adjustments to the engine and the codebases to get the games running properly on newer hardware, even moreso with the enhancements. There's inevitably going to be a few bugs and glitches associated with that process, and thankfully it seems to all be minor and there's nothing game-breaking, which I can more than appreciate.
@nessisonett It legitimately needs to be an unlocked framerate, especially in consideration for PS5 and Series X. Otherwise there's no reason for it. If you're playing on PS4 Pro or the One X, it'll likely be best to simply play in the Quality Mode.
@BAMozzy The sad reality of it is. The people against microtransactions within the industry, considering all facets of it, including consumers, are a minority. The majority of gamers are perfectly content spending potentially hundreds of dollars on a single game, which is why FTP, sports games, and stuff like CoD are as popular as they are. They consist of a lot of people's entire game library, essentially. And game companies make millions off of microtransactions alone. Those of us who keep up with the industry are inside a bubble, most of us know what's going on, and most of us are against it. That statement doesn't ring true for the majority of consumers, and that's what companies like Take-two, Bethesda, EA, Ubisoft, and unfortunately, now CDPR, are banking off of.
@Old-Red I entirely agree. And it's why I'm deeply conflicted about buying Ubisoft games. But hey, if I truly put my money where my mouth is, I wouldn't own anything. Personally, I have a soft spot for Assassin's Creed due to nostalgia for the earlier games in the series. The newer games are less than stellar, but they're still enjoyable time wasters. I want to be more optimistic about the industry, but I'm honestly really worried about next-gen as a whole.
I am definitely looking forward to this game, as Housemarque are fantastic developers and I feel that they can do a lot with a bigger budget. However, I still can't get over the title. It's terrible. Who in the world approved it and thought that it was a good idea? I'm not a naming expert by any means but am I wrong in saying that "Returned" would be a better title, and have the same meaning and effect?
Sorry for the mini-rant, but I wanted to finally get it off of my chest. lol
@get2sammyb For an AA release, The Outer Worlds is an excellent game and has sold extremely well. And it did great being marketed under Take-Two with their insurmountable resources. It also helps that it was announced alongside the depressing mess that was Fallout 76, and its further demise has only served to catapult its hype further. I for one can't wait to see what they can do with a higher budget for a sequel.
I'll probably be going for a combination of Big Brain, Deadeye, The Commander, and a bit of Diplomat. I'm going to do my best to roleplay largely as myself since there seems to be a lot of freedom to do so in The Outer Worlds. So it'll be interesting to see how that pans out. Still undecided on what difficulty I'll want to play on.
@Areus This is almost exactly what I'm expecting. I don't think we'll probably be seeing any perfect scores, but likely 8 across the board just from what I've surmised from what different people have said about the game already, and just judging by the newer previews. People gave God of War a lot of grief pre-release because it was different from previous games in the series. But, after it released and it received critical acclaim, practically everyone was in love with it, and for good reason. And people don't take so kindly to new IPs as they used to. I think this will be a good game, but not superb, and there's nothing wrong with that. And the fact that it isn't a game that innovates doesn't make it the worst thing to exist in the known universe.
