Re: Sony Patent Shows How Loading Screens Could Be Killed Off on PS5

AshFoxX

Remember when Nintendo 64 used cartridges to alleviate load times at the cost of storage space? Good times. Keep up the unnecessarily expensive proprietary storage solutions Sony, it's not like it was a definitive factor in the death of the Vita or anything.

Also, I logged in to remind everyone that the patent Namco had on loading screen 'mini-games' has been expired for almost 4 years and nobody has taken advantage of it that I know of. Seems like it would be a 24 year-old solution to a modern day problem.

Re: Hands On: Dangerous Driving Is Burnout 3 on Burnout 1's Budget

AshFoxX

Okay, here's my take:

I'm not expecting the world from this game, but I will buy it day one at full price and any and all DLC that may come out for it. I want to support this genre and specifically the developers who used to work on Burnout proper. I had hours upon hours of good times with the original Burnout on GameCube and the jump to Burnout 2 (and even more to Burnout 3) was due to the previous success of the property. If we let this game fail, that's it. The developer may fold or the industry will just assume we don't want fast and loose arcade racers anymore. It's a budget $39.99 title with a simple premise that I adore so much and if it gets just a little love, the sequels will only get better.

Probably not worth noting, but I felt I needed to show a little positive attitude when something I love has a chance. Worse case scenario, EA notices it doing well enough and produces a proper next gen Burnout game. Win win.

Re: Star Wars Battlefront Feels the Force with Offline Mode on PS4

Might still hold out to see if they flesh out Battlefront 2. The first one might be a buy for me in a bargain bin as I could really care less for online, but split screen modes tempt me to the dark side a bit. Still, not willing to pay the current asking price for what looks to me like half of a game.

Re: E3 2016: Stop Complaining About PlayStation VR and Try It Tomorrow

I want to be on board, really I do, I've always daydreamed about VR worlds and technology and now that it's here, I can't get around the peripheral costing more than the game console. If it happens, it will likely be the PSVR as it costs roughly the same as an Oculus Rift and features a similar experience without the finicky drivers and other expensive needed upgrades my computer needs at the moment. The HTC Vive is very cool, but lack of a large enough play area and the outrageous price tag make it less likely I'll be owning one this generation.

May not be going to one of these 'experiences' though, as I already have a tendency for shying away from crowds, let alone being hooked up to a helmet with dozens of meatbags watching me flail and cry when I get scared. I'd rather play in the comfort of my locked bedroom with my pants off.
