@S1ayeR74 it isn't opinion, it's the quoted speeds of the drives that is a known fact (both have official stats and figures). Those are facts, which I combine with accumulated knowledge to form a personal opinion.
I never called my opinion facts at all, I just referred to the known facts whilst stating my opinion. If you understood the English language better, you wouldn't start arguments when you don't understand what is being said.
@S1ayeR74 You are nobody, why would I bother proving anything to you. You are only here because XBoxX is underperforming compared to PS5 and you bought into the hype.
I don't care, it doesn't bother me at all if you believe me or not, you've already proven you believe BS hype.
How many developers have proven it is to do with the CPU? Zero, None of them have offered anything more than opinions.
I can't be "defensive" with nothing to defend, I don't have a dog in this fight at all so why should I care that you got duped by one side or the other?
@S1ayeR74 My "opinions" aren't baseless at all. They are based on prior experience and known physical facts.
You know what I'm basing them on, so to say they are baseless is beyond moronic. You can say that you don't agree with them, but you can't deny them out of existence.
I don't like you, you started an argument over nothing and are too ignorant to back down now. You have serious issues and are aggressive and pointless.
I suggested you may be a troll because you seemed excessively aggressive and eager to confront everyone all the time. I can't understand that behaviour unless you have an ulterior motive of some description.
I'll try your method though;
You no longer exist clicks fingers.
@S1ayeR74 But by your own stupid rules, because you aren't a policeman so you aren't allowed to view any evidence.
Read again, I didn't call you a troll, I said if you were one you are doing a good job. You don't understand words properly so what is the point of wasting them on you?
I based my opinion from experience of PS4/XBONE file handling differences which meant that for certain titles one would decompress 4 or 5 times faster than the other.
In certain circumstances a Mini Cooper is faster than a Ferrari, does that mean it's wrong to call the Ferrari the faster car?
You really need to calm down, stop being so aggressive and try to understand the meaning of words.
@S1ayeR74 So that is guesswork unless you are a SSD storage engineer.
If you aren't directly qualified and actively employed in a specific niche then your opinion means nothing? But then you have to admit that your opinion and thoughts are completely worthless also (unless you are a professional troll, in which case your money is well earned).
@__jamiie But they won't, the same thing has been said for 40+ years and every time it's the same. I remember as a kid I had a C64 and argued frequently with ZX Spectrum owners about superiority in the early eighties. Every generation has been the same so you can either join in, ignore it or get driven insane by the banality of it all.
@mousieone The running of a vacuum cleaner doesn't cost several thousand pounds over its lifetime. If each vacuum bag cost £50-£80 a throw and you require 10-20 bags per year, you may think differently.
@mousieone @S1ayeR74 Because a faster SSD can't be slower than a slower SSD unless it is software related. We know the specs, they are in the public domain, you don't have to be a developer or a console designer to know this, you just need to be able to read.
@__jamiie I think that when you make a decision for either console, you do that by looking at the good and bad in both systems. If you can only afford one, you have to justify your decision in your head, by inflating the good points of one and concentrating on the negatives of the other. If you've weighed it all up in your head and made your decision, when someone challenges your console of choice, they are challenging your decision making.
@S1ayeR74 PS5 SSD is more than twice as fast as that on the XboxX. That is a fact, not an opinion. If an Xbox is loading or retrieving data faster, it is a software/file related reason.
@Mpquikster If you had one with the power to do both, you would end up in exactly the same position. It would be pushed to make it better looking and you would lose the 60fps as a result.
Basically, whatever power you give a console, the result will always be the same.
@SilentScorpion_ They have sold out of all this year's allocation within minutes. They don't have to say anything, the more they make people wait, the more anticipation they build. I've had all previous PlayStation consoles on or before the launch date. I literally took my original PS1 off the back of a lorry as it was being delivered to the store a couple of days before release.
I will miss this launch unfortunately. I was queueing online for ages and just as it was my turn to confirm my pre-order, the website crashed losing my details.
I quickly got on to a different stores website but was 51,000th in the queue.
@Robinsad It's pretty obvious that PS5 won't be able to emulate the cell processer of the PS3, the PS2 had custom chips that cause problems with emulation and do you really want to play PS1 games? They haven't aged well.
@nessisonett It doesn't work like that at all. If you have a company ploughing a lot of money into a game, they want to be able to guarantee a return on their investment.
To ensure this, they tend to demand a role in the development and will not want to try anything "exciting and new" when "PooP" just broke a sales record for the genre with old-school traditional gameplay.
They tend to worry more about securing the highest financial returns than the quality of the game.
An independent game maker wants to be as creative as possible.
PS: I only know because if you replace "game" with "film", I'm in the same position.
@PcTV Well, PS3 had a free online service whilst 360 owners had to pay (also you could buy one copy of a game and use it to play on several machines at once).
All the Xbox fans said that it was worth paying because the service was so good. Things have come full circle now.
@rjejr Now you are being preachy and irritating. When someone apologises on the internet, just accept it and move on (it doesn't happen often). I'm not the sort of fluffy person that accepts lectures from softies on how to be nice.
@Alec1992 Well it's all about bandwidth and the PS5 SSD has more direct access than any other system. It lightens the load for the CPU. It is unique in the way it is utilised.
It's the only system that's trying something new other than upgrade the CPU, GPU and memory.
For a console to be interesting, it has to do something differently to other consoles or PC"s.
@Doc_sanchez The PS5's SSD is a major advantage over Xbox. I am more interested in what that offers to gaming design rather than the current style of games with higher frame rates and resolutions.
I wasn't going to buy another console until I found out that Sony was doing something very different with the SSD. They have it integrated with the CPU to improve graphics as well as load times.
Microsoft aren't doing anything that interests me, just more power.
@Futureshark Little Timmy is an idiot, he swapped his Casio keyboard for Mr Potato Head. Also last weekend he pooped his pants at a friend's Birthday party.

Digital for me. I said I never would, but I don't buy games on release, I wait until they're on sale. I'll use the money I save towards a larger capacity drive down the line (currently have a 3tb drive in my PS4 and I have instant access to so many games its crazy).

Just remember, you are not important in the grand scheme of things, computer games are not important and your view of a computer game is so unimportant it shouldn't even register as an issue.
