Re: Critics Are Divided Over More Than Just Gotham Knights PS5 Performance

Acurisur

Digital Foundry's analysis of Gotham Knights was pretty damning, they compared it to Arkham Knight and the older game beats it in almost evey department. I'm not even talking performance or story here, I'm talking visually. Arkham Knight has a denser Gotham with a lot more going on, it's got a lot more effects going on like the rain, the water is better and the smoke effects are better.

It seems to me that Rocksteady managed to squeeze every last inch of performance out of the last gen hardware and made a game that 7 years on is still superior to Gotham Knights.

Warner Bros Montreal on the other hand just went "That'll do" and called it a day. I won't be buying this. Only worth playing if it turns up on PS Plus.

Re: Like a Dragon: Ishin! Won't Have an English Dub

@DorkyDeviant It makes complete sense actually, as this game was never designed with an english dub in mind. That's only been the case since Judgment and Like A Dragon/Yakuza 7.

This game would be very difficult to dub in English and get the nuances of the conversation right, seeing as the form of Japanese that was used during the time period that Ishin was set in was quite different to modern Japanese.

Also Kiryu with a English dub just sounds horrific.

Re: Poll: Are You Okay with Kiryu Being a Main Character Again in the New Like a Dragon Games?

@Thrillho They were never going to kill him off, because the whole point of him surviving from a lore perspective was to show how powerful he's become over the last 7 games. He's taken way more punishment than he did in 6 as well. From a writing standpoint I suspect RGG Studio didn't want to kill him off only to then have the fans not like Ichiban as much and the the sales tank as a consequence, so they kept him alive as insurance.

As for Kiryu coming back that's probably because we've got new people in charge at RGG, I forget the name of the original director (I'd have to look it up), but he wanted to change the protagonist because he'd got tired of having the same protagonist in every game. However because he's now left to form his own studio, the new director of RGG Studio doesn't share that view and immediately reinstated Kiryu to the main story. I suspect he's a massive Kiryu fan as he looks a fair bit younger than the original director.

@Suda51ueda A game is not food, it's not even remotely the same thing.

I'm happy with my PS4 Remaster, I'm not wasting my money on a game that's got exactly the same gameplay just with prettier visuals for £70. If it was £30 I'd consider it.

Re: Assassin's Creed III Remastered - Hearty Remaster Shows Off Series Milestone in a Flattering Light

ACIII was one of the first games I picked up when I made the move from console to gaming PC's (though I did pick up a Playstation 4 in 2017), and I remember intially being skeptical it could be better than ACII or Brotherhood but I was also tired of playing Ezio after Revelations. Looking back it's not quite as good as ACII or Brotherhood but it's better than Revelations and also AC: Black Flag imo. Black Flag is a great game as long as you play as a pirate, as an Assassin Edward sucked balls. Connor on the other hand was possibly the most brutal and angry Assassin of them all. Not my favourite AC game by any means (that would probably be AC: Brotherhood) by far from the worst imo. I'll probably plough through it after I finish Odyssey (got Odyssey Ultimate Edition during a sale so ACIII Remastered is a nice bonus). Welcome back Connor.
