Sony Pictures just closed out a Meta Quest livestream with the reveal of Ghostbusters VR, developed by Fracked creator nDreams – but there’s currently no word of the game coming to PSVR2. The game – which was introduced by Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg himself – was revealed with a cinematic trailer, so is likely still somewhat early in development, but will feature an “extensive and engrossing campaign”. You’ll be able to play either solo or with up to three other friends in co-op.

“Strap on your proton pack and step into the world of Ghostbusters in immersive virtual reality,” the official website teases. “Start your Ghostbusters HQ in a new city, San Francisco, and solve a deep mystery across a new chapter in the Ghostbusters universe. Track, blast, and trap ghosts in gripping encounters by wielding iconic equipment.”

We know that nDreams is working with PSVR2, so it seems likely this will come to Sony’s headset eventually, but there’s no comment on that at the time of publication – bizarre considering Sony Pictures holds the rights to the Ghostbusters franchise. In the meantime, a non-VR asymmetric multiplayer game named Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed has been announced for PS5 and PS4, so it’s a good time to be a fan of the iconic film franchise.
