The beta for Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls was mostly well-received, but things did look a little dicey for PC players.
Sony doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to supporting storefronts like Steam, and a host of huge issues were reported on social media throughout the entirety of the test period.
Arc System Works, to its credit, moved to address those concerns quickly – and now it’s followed up with the promise of improvements come launch, on 6th August.
Writing on social media, it’s committed to the following fixes:
- Reducing overall CPU usage to improve performance
- Fixing frame rate drops and lag
- Resolving an issue causing unnecessary shader compilation at startup
- Improving compatibility when streaming with OBS and Discord
- Addressing rollback netcode and cross-play issues

The Japanese studio says it’s “also working on fixes for a number of other reported issues”, and it’s said it’s “heads down” so that the game delivers at “launch and beyond”.
“Every match you played taught us something,” it continued. “This is just the start. See you on 6th August!”
I’m glad my Peni Parker taking a pummelling time after time after time again has helped contribute to the betterment of the game. You’re welcome!
