We don't want to sound mean, but we had completely forgotten that Vampire: The Masquerade got a battle royale spinoff on PS5.
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt — often referred to as just Bloodhunt — released for Sony's current-gen system back on the 27th April, 2022. And now, it's just six months away from being shut down.
This confirmation doesn't come as much of a surprise, since developer Sharkmob announced that it was dropping support for the game in 2023. If anything, the surprise is that Bloodhunt managed to last this long.
Anyway, Bloodhunt is being taken offline on the 26th April, 2026. That's four years since its PS5 debut.
To be fair, the game's had a longer life than a lot of live service titles tend to enjoy. From what we understand, Bloodhunt was and is, in some cases, reasonably well liked. There's no doubt a hardcore audience that's saddened by this inevitable news.
The game received pretty lukewarm reviews from both critics and players. Given the decision to drop support, it obviously struggled to make an impact within its first 18 months or so on the market.
"We encourage everyone to enjoy the time that remains in Prague and to keep playing, making the most of these final months together," writes Sharkmob in its official press release.
"Thank you for being with us on this journey. We hope your memories from the rooftops and back alleys of Prague will stay with you as they have with us."
