What PS5 games have been announced? What PS5 games have been rumoured? In this guide, we're going to list every PlayStation 5 game that's been confirmed or rumoured ahead of the console's release, which is due in Holiday 2020. This list is based on at least partial confirmation from publishers or developers, rumours that have weight, and educated guesswork. We'll be updating this article over time as more information becomes available, so be sure to check back regularly.

Assassin's Creed 2020

Assassin's Creed 2020Assassin's Creed 2020
Publisher: Ubisoft / Developer: Ubisoft
Release Date: Q4 2020 (USA) / Q4 2020 (UK/EU)

Status: Rumoured to be in development for both PS4 and PS5

Much has been said about the next instalment in the Assassin's Creed series, and it centers around the idea of vikings. Rumours suggest the game will include a map covering Scandinavia and England around the year 800 AD. The game will probably be announced at some point next year, and given Ubisoft's history with cross-gen releases, we'd say the chances are high this game will get a version for both PS4 and PS5.

BioShock PS5 (PS5)

BioShock PS5 (PS5)BioShock PS5 (PS5)
Publisher: 2K Games / Developer: Cloud Chamber
Release Date: TBA

Status: Announced for unspecified platforms, almost certainly a PS5 game

2K Games recently announced that a new BioShock game is in the works. It hasn't specified what platforms the game will come to, but it definitely sounds next-gen to us. The publisher stated the game will be in development for "the next several years", so it sounds like PS5 will be well established by the time this title rolls around. We know very little about this return to the series, but a PS5 release is almost guaranteed.

Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5)

Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5)Cyberpunk 2077 (PS5)
Publisher: Bandai Namco / Developer: CD Projekt Red
Release Date: TBA

Status: Dated for PS4, but given scope of the game, an additional PS5 release seems likely

CD Projekt Red's next role-playing experience has already wowed with a couple of lengthy gameplay demos, and expectations are sky high after The Witcher 3. The Polish developer has stated numerous times that Cyberpunk 2077 is bound for the PS4, but given that the game is set to release in September 2020 (following a hefty delay from April), we can definitely see it getting a PS5 edition once Sony's next-gen machine arrives. Besides, the sheer ambition on display suggests that Cyberpunk 2077 has already given us a glimpse of what an open world PS5 game could be.

Death Stranding (PS5)

Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment / Developer: Kojima Productions
Release Date: TBA

Status: Out now on PS4, but we can see it being re-released on PS5 given the timing and the fact it's also coming to PC

After years of trailers and speculation, Death Stranding is finally in our hands. Sony's placed a lot of faith in iconic developer Hideo Kojima and his team at Kojima Productions, and we were somewhat surprised to see it get a 2019 release date. Still, given the game's lengthy production cycle, it's not too much of a jump to assume that it'll appear on PS5 in some form, especially now that it's confirmed for a PC release in the summer of 2020. In fact, system architect Mark Cerny has alluded to this very fact in past interviews.

Demon's Souls Remake (PS5)

Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment / Developer: Bluepoint Games
Release Date: TBA

Status: Unannounced, but heavily rumoured

Bluepoint Games has been rumoured to be working on a remake/remaster of Demon's Souls for what feels like an eternity, and with PS5 looming, it's very possible this game will end up on the next-gen platform. Adding fuel to this fire, Marco Thrush recently stated the team is making a "big game" for PS5. You know it makes sense.
