Can You Destroy Tree Roots in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33?

Yes, the big brown and blue tree roots you'll often find can be destroyed, but the ability isn't unlocked automatically as part of the Main Story. Instead, you need to upgrade your R1 attack. This is done by collecting the Lost Gestrals hidden across The Continent map.

Once you have found 4 Lost Gestrals, go to Camp and talk to Sastro. He'll then grant you the ability to destroy the tree roots. For information documenting them all, refer to our All Lost Gestrals Locations guide and unlock the new ability.
