@LtSarge I found Lego Pirates of the Caribbean a complete mess. The quality just want there compared to other Lego games at the time. That was a time when it seemed that they were pumping out a Lego game every six months. I even remember reading about bugs and crashes which I am not sure ever got fixed. Unless you are a hardcore Pirates of the Caribbean fan or Lego fan you should skip this one.

Lego Indiana Jones I did enjoy but I am a huge Indy fan in fact I enjoy the Indy films more then the Star Wars so yeah. That being said I found the first one really good while Lego Indiana Jones 2 felt more like a retelling of 1-3 with the 4th movie added in. It's nothing like Lego Star Wars Complete where they took Lego Star Wars 1 and 2 and added a few thing into it. Honestly I think with Lego Indiana Jones 2 they should have just added the 4th movie to the Lego Indiana Jones as DLC rather then bring out Lego Indy 2, but they wanted to bring an Indy game out to capture the hype of the 4th movie. Get Lego Indiana Jones skip Lego Indiana Jones 2.

Other Lego games to look into if you haven't are the Lego Batman games and Lego Marvel/Avengers games. I highly recommend those ones especially if you like DC/Marvel.

@RogerRoger @nessisonett @Tasuki Thanks for your help guys. Based on your comments, I think I'll be avoiding the second Indiana Jones game and Pirates of the Caribbean. I still want to play the first Indiana Jones though because I finished watching the movies a couple of months ago and would love to revisit them in Lego form. So I think I'll at least get the first game. I'll also get Star Wars The Complete Saga since it's so highly regarded.

@RogerRoger I'll be getting Split/Second as well then! Although I'm still unsure if I should get Force Unleashed II because well, I've heard that it's better than the first game and I did enjoy it quite a bit. But we'll see!

@Tasuki Oh definitely, I already have all Lego Batman games and the two Marvel Super Heroes ones. I've played through Batman 2 and Marvel Super Heroes 1, and I'm excited to play the rest of them in the foreseeable future! I've actually been contemplating on starting up the first Lego Batman on 360, so I might do that soon.

I have the Series S I bought from a friend a few months back and looking at Game Pass I don't quite get the hype. It has some great stuff like Psychonauts 1 and 2 and Sunset Overdrive but I find a lot of the games to just be alright or not to my taste. Looking at most of the Game Pass library, it feels very... Xbox. Like most of it basically only really appeals to someone that likes the Xbox brand. It feels we're at the point where loads of people complain if a game isn't "free" thanks to Game Pass, and even if games are free on Game Pass that doesn't always mean they are good. It's not a terrible service but people make it sound like the best thing ever in the world. It sounds too good to be true and I believe over time it will get more expensive and leave the honeymoon phrase everyone is having with it.

@RogerRoger Yeah, the Lego Movie game and Avengers were massive disappointments for us back on the Wii U. Especially considering how much we enjoyed the first Marvel one, it’s still one of the best Marvel games out there.

Plumbing’s just Lego innit. Water Lego.

@RogerRoger I played Lego Jurassic Park on PS4 and enjoyed it. It was one of the better ones. I won't play Lego Lord of the Rings because it's incomplete, and I totally forgot about Lego Incredibles so I can't say on that one.

@velio84 it's an obvious but just how I feel, I don't think the service is as good as people are claiming it to be and could easily improve in the next few years. I feel the service would improve once Microsoft's acquisitions begin to come in place with games releasing from those and perhaps more third parties jump on a Day 1 Game Pass release. Just at the moment I don't see much on there to understand the hype but if people are enjoying Game Pass good for them, it's just not catching my attention like others.

@Sam_ATLUS it's hyped as the best deal in gaming. Because it's all about the sheer amount you get for the price. Typically, I find, people talk about how good the value is rather than the content itself. I paid for it again to play Halo Infinite on my One X and again I found most the content just okay, browsed past nearly all of it. Good for people who aren't huge gamers and just play casually, but perhaps not as well suited for the enthusiasts.

@RogerRoger I need to play Split/Second sometime then, as that's obviously some high praise. Burnout Revenge was my favorite racing game from that generation. Split/Second was a free Xbox Live Gold game at some point I believe, and I've had it for a while now but have yet to play it. Ended up buying Burnout Revenge for $5 before the sale ended yesterday to play that again someday. I thought I had the disc still, but I looked and couldn't find it, so I guess not.

@KilloWertz Split/Second is probably my favourite racer from that gen, just pipping Blur. The latter was a great online racer at a time when I actually played games online lol.

@JohnnyShoulder split second is so underrated . as somebody whose dying for a twisted metal and as someone who loves arcade style racing , do you know how perfect split second was for me ! as much $$$ that disney has we could’ve atleast got a remaster . that game was a masterpiece and it had TWELVE PLAYER RACES . something you don’t really see anymore .

KilloWertz

@nomither6 Ummm, Christmas?

I'm not sure why I didn't play it yet, but for now it will still have to wait as I have a couple of games I want to play/finish before Horizon Forbidden West comes out. After all the praise on here though, it will definitely get played at some point after I'm done with Forbidden West.

@Sam_ATLUS I guess it depends on your perspective, situation etc but the general idea of Game Pass is that 'every month' for a 'small' fee, you get access to some big Day1 releases as well as access to a curated list of games spanning over 20yrs of gaming. This month, for example, R6: Extraction is 'free' a $40 game for essentially $10 but also get Hitman Trilogy, The Anacrusis ($25 in Early Access), some other indies and, if you subscribe to Game Pass Ultimate, which includes Games with Gold and EA:Play, you also get Mass Effect: Legendary.

Basically, the Game Pass model is about offering 'great' games Day1 every month. That's to 'encourage' you to subscribe and then keep you subscribed for next month. MS ideally need at least 12 big games that 'people' want to play to get them in to Game Pass and keep them Subscribed. Which considering the cost of games - even an indie costs $20+ these days - can save the 'consumer' a lot of money. If you buy 3 'PS5' exclusives a year, that's $210 but for $120 you could of played MLB21, Outriders, MSFS, Psychonauts 2, FH5, B4B, Hades, Halo, Aliens: Fireteam, Medium etc in 2021 and R6:Extraction, Starfield, Stalker2, Plague Tale, Warhammer:Darktide, Scorn, Redfall and whatever else comes to Game Pass in 2022 - far more games you can play for your money so the 'value' is 'unrivalled'

As I said, it does depend on the person of course. If you have 'little' time to game and would rather buy the few new games a year and/or 'happy' to scour the sales/bargains to play games that are no longer $60+, then spending $10 a month maybe isn't worth it. Especially if you also have a 'huge' backlog to play. That $120 a year can buy a few games you really want with no 'conditions' (like PS+/Gold & Game Pass games have - remain Subscribed to keep playing) so if you don't play a 'lot', then its 'value' is reduced. That's $120 you have spent out and, if you stop, you have 'nothing' - apart from the time, memories and experiences that $120 may not of allowed you to have otherwise. That could be '2 or 3' games you could have instead so its certainly about individual perspectives - own a couple of games that no doubt will drop in value or potentially have a LOT more experiences for your money (depending again on the person because they may not have 'time' to game a LOT)

But for a lot of Game Pass subscribers, the value is often what brings them in. Its great with 'social' gamers too as everyone of your friends on Game Pass has access to the same games so easier to find games you all have to play together and as they are 'free', everyone can download and play together. It also allows you to try games that you were on the fence about, games you wouldn't normally buy. Not sure if the Artful Escape, Hades or Death's Door are your thing, not paying $20+ to find out, try them free and decide. Game Pass Ultimate includes PC/Mobile Game Pass too so you can play all those games on 'any' device and your progress is saved - no need to buy multiple versions and your progress is carried over too. It also allows 'streaming' to any supported device. On my Series X, I use streaming to play some little indies without having to wait to download to play or play on my laptop which isn't built for 'gaming'.

At the end of the day, its a bit like being given the Choice to keep buying Movies/Music on Bluray/Vinyl or subbing to a service where you can watch/listen anywhere (not just on your Bluray/Record player) and not just that Film/Album, but hundreds of other Films/Albums you can watch/listen too as well. When the 'next' movie/album releases you want, that's free to watch/listen to anywhere or you can 'pre-order/buy' the new Bluray/Vinyl to play on that '1' device it works on.

As indicated, Each to their own. It may not suit you, your 'ideals' or circumstance but in terms of 'value', $10 a month for $100's of new Day 1 releases, let alone all the 'older' games on there, is great value. To play R6: Extraction (maybe not your 'ideal' game, nor mine) on PS5/Xbox is $40 but $10 on Game Pass (maybe even $1 for your first month) but the month before had Halo, month before FH5. On just these past 3months, you've saved money as a year of Game Pass is $120, yet those 3 games would of cost $160 - add in all the other 'little' releases- the Gunk, Aliens: Fireteam, Hitman:Trilogy etc also and that 'value' keeps 'rising'.

A pessimist is just an optimist with experience!

Why can't life be like gaming? Why can't I restart from an earlier checkpoint??

Feel free to add me but please send a message so I know where you know me from...

@RogerRoger Thanks. It sounds like it could be nuts after just reading the Overview for Split/Second.

Never really knew it until I looked them up now, but probably a big reason why it never got a remaster or anything is because Disney closed the studio down in 2011. A shame since they had some pretty good racing games, mainly motorcycle ones like the Moto GP series and Pure. Anyways, even if it did get a free remaster, it would have had to be Xbox doing it themselves like they did with some Xbox One X enhancements last gen (something PlayStation only did for their own games).

@RogerRoger It's been awhile since I played it so you are probably right. I am a big fan of the franchise and your right there's not to many good games so maybe I overlooked the flaws on that one.

Speaking of Lego Jurassic Park did anyone play Lego Demensions?
