@Thrillho That ladder scene was amazing, the music caught me off guard. It was dope how they added reverb to her voice to simulate the ladder well. I concur with your thoughts on healing mechanics. I liked the design of The End fight for its era, but after playing so many modern games it felt tedious chasing him from area to area because of Snake's slow movement speed, but I did like the fight. Least favorite was The Fury!! Even though it's probably the easiest when you figure out. When you don't know yet it was beyond frustrating. I absolutely loved the motorcycle shootout with Eva, chef kiss.
I did have a somewhat "cute" tongue in cheek post I gonna write revolving Cyberpunk 2077 and Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee (The New 'n' Tasty Remake) saying I enjoyed one and not the other all that much and make you draw your own conclusions...
But yeah I'll just lay it out there and say I'm pretty glad to see the back of Cyberpunk after the 40 hours I spent on it to be honest and I thought New and Tasty, despite being a remake of a 1997 game, felt so much more fresh and original to me (Though there is the power of nostalgia at play here with Abe admitedly)
That 1.2 patch for Cyberpunk honestly made things so much worse for me and my experience whether just immersion breaking or actually breaking gameplay.
The game crashed 6 or 7 times during the 15 hours on 1.2 (Including during one of the epilogues of one the endings).
I fell through the floor and into the abyss... Twice.
I had the car/bike spawn thing bug out and put my bike nearly 2000 km away instead.
I had Johnny's character model bug out.
I had the photo mode erratically bug out.
I had my character model turn naked both in the inventory menu and in the actual game despite wearing clothes.
I had the character model bug out in the inventory menu
The pop in for lighting and textures became EXTREMELY notable too.
I had the final boss just walk on air at one point.
... I really didn't want to say anything bad about the game as it's already been the internet's punching bag since it released and whilst I wasn't completely enamoured with The Witcher 3 like most there was a whole lot to like about it and I was looking forward to CP2077 despite all the problems it had... But yeesh.
No amount of bug fixes'll fix to me what I personally think is a very flawed game.
Don't get me wrong there was aspects of it I enjoyed... But I think the rushed development really hampered things and if I had to sum up my experience with CP 2077 in 4 words I think "Oh... Was that it?" would be apt for my reaction to a lot of the story beats, side quests and the likes.

@Foxy-Goddess-Scotchy Honestly, your experience seems to be so similar to my uncle and brother’s that I just don’t know if I’d even play it after the PS5 version releases. Their problems weren’t even just to do with the bugs but a general underwhelming feeling from traversing the world and especially the main story feeling under-baked.
@nessisonett I share the same sentiments. I pre-ordered the game and was excited to try it after getting off work on launch day but you couldn't scroll for 3 seconds before the overwhelming truth was on every media site. I ultimately never even booted the game up and got my refund, I have zero interest in the PS5 version. Not really anything they can do to pull me back in, really sickens me they were able to sell 13m+ copies.
Yeah... The bugs I had weren't even that big of a deal to me. I just thought I'd point out that it'd actually got worse for me on that 1.2 patch (I'd finished my time with it before that 25gb hotfix that came out).
I completely agree with your bro and uncle if it wasn't obvious already on it being pretty underbaked and dare I say rather shallow? Honestly I really wouldn't say you're missing anything on giving it a pass @nessisonett.
Night City is incredibly bloated and far too big for it's own good with a ridiculous and tedious amount of icons littering the map. Shops were pretty much pointless, the ripperdoc upgrades were underwhelming and it was incredibly obnoxious having to go to each individual one to see if they had anything new/different.
The one (And I think only) sidequest that was related my origin/lifepath took about twenty seconds to beat. It took longer for me to actually get to the location then to actually go through with the "quest" 😅
I also somehow had over 200 of both major healing items... and yet on normal towards the end despite having so much healing items and having better armour/clothing then what enemies were droppinh (and being on par level wise with the quests) I did find myself getting ripped apart like tissue paper and having to restart a couple of times...

I seem to have beaten Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Strangely. I feel like I’ve been playing it for an age and then all of a sudden it was over. There wasn’t even a final boss due to my choices! Ah well, I saved the whole family and I still have a couple other quest lines to finish, along with DLC and the platinum!
Completed Spider-man Remastered and all its dlc, yesterday. I've really enjoyed it (I never played the original PS4 game), but I was definitely ready to be done with it before the end of the dlc.
I have joined the select group of those who have played and loved The Pedestrian.
The overall run time is around 4-5 hours which is perfect for the game. The difficulty curve on the puzzles is just right and the little mechanics they add in keep it interesting and add extra layers to your thought processes.
And then the finale is just fantastically done and made me think of something like the Portal games.
Well worth a go if you enjoy a good logic puzzle game.
Super Mario Galaxy 2. I got all 120 of the regular stars and unlocked the green star quest, but there's too many of those for me to bother with.
It's an enjoyable game overall. The only disappointment was that it doesn't have much Rosalina in it, and this game is missing some of the charm that the original had in terms of characters. The level design is rather good though. Some of the optional stars can be tricky to get, so it's a good challenge.
@nessisonett I think the main thing is the short play time means the simple mechanics don't get stale and they only need a few new ideas to keep things fresh.
Beat God of War 2 yesterday. Did most of the Challenge of the Titans stuff too but got the last one (Challenge 7) left too do... as well as obtaining a further 18 cyclops eyes for the Platinum.
Just beat Ys: The Oath in Felghana. At first, I was a tad lukewarm on it, but the experience really does come together brilliantly over the course of the game in pretty much every way.
Now I just need to poke around at some of the stuff I unlocked after beating the game!
@nessisonett@Ralizah Have either of you played Ys IX? I fell off pretty early due to those initial dungeon feeling barebones. If you've played, does it get better?
@nessisonett The mature storytelling is refreshing. If this was a Hollywood movie, they would have played up the tragedy of Chester's death with sweeping music, only to reveal that, actually, he somehow miraculously survived the blast! Elena would nurse him back to health, the cops would show up after the fact for no apparent reason, and then everybody would start randomly dancing at the end after Chester's wounds had healed. Instead, sacrifices are meaningful, life goes on, and people either learn to grow from their trauma or allow it to consume them.
@TraCuz- No. I've played I - III and VIII so far (VIII was my first game, and then I decided to go back and play all of the games basically in order, despite Ys III apparently happening after Ys IV, for some reason).
I've enjoyed all of the games, but none of them have had amazing dungeons. Not a big deal in VIII, since the island is such a great setting, and combat in these games is immediately fun, but the dungeons definitely don't stand out like they would in, say, a Legend of Zelda game. I would say I'd like to see a puzzle element introduced in future games, but if Darm Tower in Ys I is the sort of "puzzle dungeon" I can expect in future games, then I'd prefer they stick with this more straightforward approach, lol.
