I think I’ve actually played more PSP and PS1 games than Vita games on mine. Regardless, Persona 4 Golden and the dancing games, Trails in the Sky Evo trilogy, Trails from Zero Evo, Salt and Sanctuary, Danganronpa, Dragon’s Crown, Ys Memories of Celceta, Atelier Rorona and such isn’t a bad crop. It’s basically a perfect Falcom machine.

Persona 4 Golden was the reason I bought a Vita, so that plus

  • Danganronpa and Danganronpa 2
  • Virtue's Last Reward
  • Soundshapes
  • Severed
  • Tearaway

Honestly I can't think of anything else.

I bought my Vita solely for the God of War Collection. After that I added Minecraft, Mortal Kombat and Injustice to the collection

I love Injustice, a really great game. One of my favs on the system.

@PSVR_lover Does it play well on PS Vita? I always imagined those gorgeous graphics would've had to have been severely compromised, or its framerate frequently tanks or something. Not sure why.

The game plays very well. I need to replay it soon.

@PSVR_lover Awesome, glad to hear. I'll keep my eyes open for a copy from somewhere!

You’ll love it when you get it. A great fighting game.

I haven't played my Vita much, but Hot Shots Golf, Resistance, and Need for Speed Most Wanted were my favorites so far.

EDIT: Also Ratchet & Clank trilogy

@HeavyMetalWario64DS I really enjoyed Need for Speed on PS Vita earlier this year. I've also heard good things about Resistance, but I haven't played any of the mainline PS3 games. Are they required background to the Vita version, or can it be enjoyed as a standalone shooter?

I haven't played the PS3 Resistance games either, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything story wise with the Vita game. I've also heard that the Vita version is supposed to be the worst in the series, but I still find it fun.

@HeavyMetalWario64DS Appreciate the insight, thanks! Sounds like you came at it from the same angle, so it's good to know that the game's still a worthwhile endeavour. Cheers!

Finally returned to Darkest Dungeon on my Vita, what a great game. I put it down 3 or 4 years ago on reaching the final dungeon. I'm back to it and just have the final level to go now! Might go for a 2nd playthrough after completing it, see if I can cope with the highest difficulty.

After reading the PowerWash simulator review, I got thinking about Velocity, and then got thinking about my Vita. I dug it out, it was a bit of a dusty mess. Gave it a once over with isopropyl alcohol and a cloth with some cotton buds and it's looking great - charged up fine. I used to use it a lot when I commuted by tube.

Coming straight over from Switch, the build quality of the Vita still feels really nice and that screen is just WOW. The smaller form factor (versus Switch with large aftermarket joy-cons) actually means I might feel comfortable using this outdoors.

I had a quick go on FF10 (last save was 2015, literally remember putting it down like it was yesterday!), FF9 (feels so much better to play than the remastered version due to the true analogue movement) and Virtua Tennis 4.

I don't have a lot of time for games recently which is a shame because I have a few to play, but I am hoping I can make a bit of time to crawl through some of my old favourites. I have been wanting to play Tomb Raider 2, 3 or Chronicles for a while now so maybe one of those. And it's been a while since I last played FF9.

@kyleforrester87 I pulled the ol’ Vita out of hibernation a month or two ago (although yours sounds like was in much worse shape than mine! 😄) to play MGS2. After using it to play several hours of that game on the road, I haven’t gone back to finish it, but I’m glad to have the option. I’ll be doing a little travel in coming months and maybe my Vita will get a little more love then.

I was rather put off by the poorly functioning PS store on the Vita. After being away from it for so long, it was surprisingly how bad navigating the store is. And I had to do some PSN gymnastics to get it going again with two-factor authentication. I hadn’t enabled that before and the Vita made me do all that jazz before it would let me connect online.

kyleforrester87

@Th3solution I didn’t try to log into the store as I didn’t want my playtest to end on a downer 😂 I will give it a go later, but I am expecting lots of gremlins.

My Vita is alive and kicking. I use it to slowly work my way to the MGS3 platinum. Game still looks amazing on the OLED screen after all these years. My son also likes to use it for various Lego games and Sly Cooper. He calls it “the mini PlayStation” 😂

@Mr_B021 Same here. I've got two - a pristine OLED and a bashed Model 2 that has been ahem modified for travel on the high seas.

Managed to get into the store relatively easily and have Tomb Raider Chronicles downloaded and ready to go. Expectations in check. Just gotta think like it’s 1999 baby.

@kyleforrester87 Hmmm… 1999…. Let’s see. Shakespeare in Love dominates the Oscars (with Saving Private Ryan and Life is Beautiful taking a few as well). Cher’s “Believe” tops the charts. Bill Clinton’s impeachment ends. Boris Yeltsin resigns as President of Russia, leaving Prime Minister Vladimir Putin as acting President. JFK Jr. crashes his plane. And who could forget Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. We also had Sixth Sense and Fight Club and the publishing of the third installment of the Harry Potter books, “Prisoner of Azkaban.”

To borrow from Charles Dickens, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”
