These scammers and scalpers, even if they are starting to dwindle in number, are definitely still the scum of the Earth. That really freaking sucks man
It’s alright everyone, eBay got back within 20 minutes of me opening the case to say that I was covered under their guarantee and that I’d get my money back in the coming days. All very apologetic and understanding, it seems like they’ve dealt with a lot of similar cases. Nothing at all in the description said that it was a photo, I double checked. Just feel like a bit of an idiot for getting my hopes up, I guess I should have waited it out like everyone else. The most annoying part is that I bloody paid £1.50 postage on the photo, the guy stuck a first class stamp on a large letter envelope which is against the rules!
@nessisonett From reading the posts people have put on here and your own posts I am guessing you got scammed and presented with a photo of a PS5 rather than a PS5 - for £450?!?!? Shame to hear it man but glad your getting a full refund - why don't you try with Smyths? They are due to get in new PS5 stock in Feb.

@nessisonett Glad eBay swiftly issued your refund. 😀 You're not an idiot at all; it's just sad how many scammers there are on the platform - and it is down to eBay to make it harder for this to happen in the future. For £450 you'd think the picture would at least have been printed on high res glossy in a card-backed envelope. Con artists have no standards these days...
@nessisonett Phew! That is a relief! Glad you got a refund, if there was nothing in the description you couldn't of known that it was a photo. Hopefully you will be able to get your hands on one when stockmis more plentiful.
Life is more fun when you help people succeed, instead of wishing them to fail.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and remove all doubt.
@nessisonett Glad you got a refund. I wouldn't say you were an idiot. You paid a realistic price for a console and someone basically tried to steal from you. I've had the same happen with games before. Once i ordered a GBA game (Metroid) that turned up with no internals, just a pretend cartridge. Have also had sellers do the whole, but I'm sure I posted it, check with your post office routine. These are the exception but there are these people out there.
Now I may be an idiot, but there's one thing I am not sir, and that sir, is an idiot
I have come to the conclusion that I can't and never have been able to write metal riffs on the guitar. I love listening to metal and once had impostor syndrome being in a metal band where I managed to write some songs that passed as metal with a lot melodic quieter moments sprinkled in. I was essentially a fake whilst I was in that band, I just wasn't aware/willing to admit that to myself at the time. So I am now going to focus on jazz guitar and buy metal records only to broaden my listening experiences, whilst being aware that playing guitar in any particular style can be improved upon by listening to a wide range of music. I did genuinely enjoy about 25% of what I heard of metal at the time, but I mostly just played guitar and tried to be in bands to fit in with people at school and college. @nessisonett@colonelkilgore as guitarists I don't know what you make of all this? (my diatribe, my rambling).
N.B The band was called Dead Revelation, I was also in a rock band called Reverie but the music therein was much more melodic and came naturally to me.

@TheBrandedSwordsman so I’ve never felt the inclination to even listen to Metal let alone play or write in that style... but having said all that I think I kinda know where your coming from. My ‘Goldilocks-zone’ of songs was between folk and rock but my personal style regardless of what I was playing in that range was balladic... it was just my sweet-spot I guess. Thing is with art, unless your an absolute virtuoso/master you can’t ‘really’ fake it. You can certainly mimic a style that isn’t natural to your own personal predilection but I think artistry is different. As I alluded to though, some people, masters of their field can transcend styles and truly convince in any genre... or even medium.

@TheBrandedSwordsman There’s also the possibility that while you may enjoy that style of music more, your talents lie elsewhere. I’m sure there are a lot of musicians who wish they were country stars who ended up in metal bands! The more you broaden your horizons, the better feel you’ll get for what sounds you have an ear for.
@nessisonett lame about the PS4 pic, I'm really glad you got a refund though! Sorry haven't been checking this thread as much cos I've had some stuff on the last few days.
Now I've got to board up my windows and doors after you promised to go Liam Neeson on me in the exchange we had in the comments of the article about PS4 photo scams!
